People like her or not, something is undeniable: Joan Crawford left such an EXTRAORDINARY legacy as a movie star! Who did survive for so long in Hollywood regarding fame and love from fans but her??? She started in the silent movies and was still adored by a legion of people in the 70's! We are in 2013 and still so many people nurture love, admiration, for her and miss her. I am one of them. Hollywood royalty at its best. Stars back then were appreciative of the public that made them stars! When fans would gather in front of her house, Joan would open the door and waved to her fans. Nowadays, actors and actresses want so badly to become famous and when they do, then they want complete privacy n want nothing to do with the public that made them. That's the difference between Hollywood then and now! and by the way, Joan Crawford had two daughters and a son. Joan indeed did appear on Broadway, starting out as a chorus girl who was quickly spotted for her unusual features and expressive dancing. But Joan's greatest talent may be in making friends.
