SERIES SYNOPSIS: Hollywood has had its fair share of historically troubled productions. Whether it was casting changes, actor deaths, fired directors, in-production rewrites, constant delays, budget cuts or studio edits, these films had every intention to be a blockbuster, but were beset with unforeseen disasters. Sometimes huge hits, sometimes box office bombs. Either way, we have to ask: WTF Happened To This Horror Movie?

Honestly Peck's was probably full of the pain of losing his own son hence that extra, fervent intensity he brought to the screen. I can only hope it was in some way therapeutic for him as well.

Rotties have a tremendously strong bite. They're wholly unsuited to be stunt dogs in something like this. Mind you, they're terrific dogs when raised properly - great with kids and a strong protective instinct. This movie I think is largely responsible for maligning the breed's reputation.

This movie scared the living piss out of me when I was a kid. Anything with biblical elements, really, but this, The Exorcist and Amityville Horror really got into my brain and scared me good, and for a long time. There's something about movies from the 1970s that really works for me, most of my favourites are from 74 to 80.

This classic was sneak previewed in my home town before I moved to LA and my first celebrity interview at film school was with Richard Donner. He relished telling that story about how he shot David Warner's fate. And, in the preview, a scene was removed because the director thought he went over the top. That scene is in the remake but the Donner version was much more terrifying. I wish that footage would turn up.

We don't rememnber all of these scenes we bought the box set or all of the films watched 'em. Probably stored the DVD's of course we stored them in the country at our grandparetns house. Don't remember all of it as if it was different versions of the films. We felt like this was the boy's version of CArrie or not carries but what was - the exorcist. The Exorcist came out then this came out. The Omen. We get the idea now that he had about a scary film. You may have heard many times on TV people saying is the antichrist in the world today?

I saw this incredible picture in the theater. The biggest and one of the only jump scares was elevated by the movie theater next to ours was showing Midway in Sensoround . The Nanny jumping on Gregory Peck's back was accompanied by a sonic boom. It was like the biggest jump scare in cinematic history because of the huge amplification of the adjacent theater. This film kept me scared afterwards because of my Catholic School upbringing. I would be haunted by the book of Revelations for most of my adult life. What a fantastic movie and score.

They didn't really "adopt" the child - at least not consciously. In the opening scenes, the Peck character's wife has just given birth and the baby has died. Before the wife is told about the baby's death, a priest tells Peck that the hospital just had a mother die after giving birth to a healthy infant and offers to give it to him. He accepts, and never tells his wife the baby isn't theirs.

Crikey! Who was looking out for that crew? I think curses are real.I'm a fan of the Dracula book and in reading a few things about Stoker, I found out about his first idea of having a female vampire based on Countess Bathory. In London, years later, I went into a book shop and found a book about her, and being curious, I bought. While I was reading it weird bad things started to happen. After finishing it---what an education since Americans are never taught about the Ottoman Wars----I looked at the preface. The author said while writing it, he kept having misfortunes and felt the book was cursed. I dunno, but.....

The deal with the dogs sort of bothers me. Rottweilers, like German Shepherds and Dobermans, get a bad rap, and while they can be as ruthless and vicious as any human, they can also be fiercely loyal and loving. They tend to protect their "person" (whomever they bond with) with their life and limb. If these dogs were vicious or unruly, they were obviously not trained or they were not suitable for filming. They should have been switched out. My guess is production was rushed and they favored that over safety and common sense. Not all rotties are bad!

The world is loaded with mysteries, of course, and we don't have it all figured out (regardless of what we believe). Even just looking at the energies we create and things that we may manifest via focused imagination, there might be all kinds of potential weirdness. Plus, human senses are fairly limited. Our eyes can only see a tiny fraction of the light spectrum (that being visible light -- but not ultraviolet, infrared, etc., as examples). Anyway, a fascinating thing to look into at least. Certainly adds an extra mystique to productions like this.

What tickled me is that the kid had a British accent, yet the mother never seemed to notice. 😊 We recently lost David Warner 💔. An exceptional actor. Rip. ✌

A lot of your information is wrong. Damien was born on June 6th 1971 at 6 am. It wasn't hard to research that.

It became a classic!! With a reboot that is just as good as the original….. even includes a cameo of the original Damien .

I'd say that rip-offs and cash grabs and imitations has always been part of the movie market. It's just that the major studios in the 70's and 80's started to be more obvious about it and the imitations got higher budgets than they used to.

"Possibly three planes struck by lightning. That's not coincidence."....Um, that's pretty much the definition of coincidence.
@josephde-haan1074
@josephde-haan1074 2 жыл бұрын
Of course it's not a coincidence. The crew would have boarded the plane at the exact same second as the alternative passengers would have and the plane would have made the exact same take of, direction, elevation, speed etc., which would have the plane hitting the exact same flock of birds. It's was the devil. A character the bible is very clear about and is in no way an amalgamation of multiple words and ambiguous characters, or traits that are exo-biblical.
@TuttleCapt
@TuttleCapt 2 жыл бұрын
@@josephde-haan1074 Uh, re-read the comment. It's about lightning strikes. Every thousand hours of flight gets at least one strike. There would have been 50,000 or so flights per day then, so at least 50 strikes per hour of flight time. It's the definition of coincidence.
