I would argue that this scene has some of the finest cinematic story telling committed to film of all time. Location, players, stakes and motivations are very clearly presented and seamlessly shifted to keep the tension high until the last moment when the Falcon can get some temporary respite. That said I personally think the carbonite scene is better in terms of scene and music transition. But then again the freezing scene has the benefit of building on the journey we've seen Leia and Han go on. Basically ESB is absolutely fantastic.

It's got one - when the Falcon goes sideways and the two TIE fighters explode, as they go through the gap, the composite of the "trench" and the "main area with the giant hole" are not aligned - the asteroid suddenly starts flying sideways at several hundred meters a second for no reason. It is at 03:11.

Now, I can see why the tie fighters pilots follow Han, Leia, Chewie and 3po in the falcon in the asteroid field they don't want suffer Lord Vader's warth for losing them because on the other part of this Lord Vader can't care less about the tie fighters pilots and the star destroyers going in the asteroid field and plus asteroids doesn't concern him he wanted that falcon ship alive and not any excuses.

Anyone who knows anything about astronomy can tell you an asteroid field is not nearly so densely packed. In our asteroid belt asteroids rarely come within 1,000,000 km of each other. And if they actually started out close together there would be so many collisions between them that they would either merge into a much smaller number of large asteroids or pulverize each other. Another unrealistic aspect occurred when the star destroyers were chasing the Falcon. If they got so close together that evasive maneuvers were required their pilots must have been drunk.

Movie magic: when you commit to making something you have no idea how to execute! They wanted to push the effects from the last film and this scene says it all! That pan shot of the falcon across the asteroid surface followed by the tiebfighters is flawless! And of course John Williams!
