Best part of all is Jocko's conclusion that 'The more different ways you learn the same lesson, the more clearly you understand it'. That's why we keep on WATCHING, going off DOING, then returning and WATCHING to learn some more. Thank you another EPIC episode guys!! ❤❤❤

Why all the hate on Echo? He is a good counter-weight to Jocko. Even though he is not articulate as Jocko, his points and questions are not bad, they often make Jocko have to defend and explain his position better as well.

Not hate but it gets annoying when all he does is ramble on about some analogy that for the most part doesn’t even make any sense

The beginning of the podcast when Jocko and Echo debated on the idea of "universal good or bad thoughts" was authentic and very intriguing. Every now and then listening to the two debate ideas in a serious manner is something I really enjoy. They are able to believe separate ideas and come to a common ground when they both could have enormous egos. They instead work together. Something our society should learn how to replicate.

hey Jocko and Ekko, I just wanted to say thank you for this podcast. Something about my exposure to your work was a catalyst in my quitting smoking cigarettes on December 3rd. I was a hard chain smoker for a long time. And now i'm on to quitting smoking pot, which i haven't done in one week. Thanks! Keep it up!

Jocko, I’m a huge fan and can’t thank you enough for everything that you’ve done, and everything you continue to do. I’ve read “Extreme Ownership” and “Discipline Equals Freedom” and I plan on reading “Way of the Warrior Kid” soon but the format and dialogue of “Discipline Equals Freedom” has truly become my field/life manual..when can I get a paperback to throw in my pack and beat up while my hardcover sits at home and ages gracefully?

My martial arts teacher (a Dan Inosanto student amount others) practiced that. Over different periods he would show/instruct basically the same thing; but in different ways so eventually people would grok it more and more. Also on the subject (related, of a Bruce Lee lineage) Bruce Lee would say this too "use what is useful". It was a also a very learned person like you Jocko.

7:30 "taking something that doesnt belong to you" is universally bad.. so then taking another mammal's body away from them, violently, against their will (in the case of hunting other mammals for sport) is bad. If stronger and smarter beings did it to us, we'd surely deem it as bad/wrong, so it seems like its universally bad.

To add to work in the United Kingdom or Common Wealth, immigration rules, it is required that there are 10 year checkable employers references, for every job worked in, a full checkable criminal records check for every country. I thought this was a little tough but I have to give way to what they have agreed. Some refugees spotted a spodered assulter of women tonight and our fast acting givernment have slammed the breaks on because he was caught in fraud as well. Devastated for all the good people on man has ruined. Shame on him. Great to see the improvement.

views are down, echo i think a reason for that is reading from books about war they are getting monotonous you need new blood get guests like john danaher (bjj coach) on or wim hof or someone who knows about the marathon monks, and maybe read from stories about war once a month

to be honest, the guests he's had on weren't great for me (the punk rock guy was reasonably interesting - i learnt about that subculture of hardcore music and that jocko was into that scene) but they are among his most popular - those along with the excerpts now the guys i listed as guests, are guys that interest me if you haven't checked out the marathon monks, you should, and i'm sure jocko would love them if he doesn't know about them already, they make jocko look like a softcock (joking of course) but these guys are super human

There is no universal good or bad. It's always subjective. The only objective good could be that of true knowledge. Except from that it's all based on emotions. There is no other underlying reason. People seem to confuse morals with natural laws. Natural laws are enforced by nature and thus are or aren't. Whereas moral "laws" have no such rules so thus cannot be objective or universal.
