Brah, teams regularly failed to coordinate with battle space owners in Mosul 2007-2009, and it caused all kinds of shit for us as the battle space owners. This line that not coordinating with other units was death shit is disingenuous. Rangers, MIT, and PIT teams as well as yes SEALs were all guilty of it, as were conventional ground forces. At least that’s the Iraq I remember.

The fact is a lot people are fucking pissed off about the truth coming out regarding Roberts Ridge, Operation Redwings and many other SEAL related cover ups. A small entity of SEAL leadership tried to completely distort and manipulate the truth on what happened in all these instances and it has deeply damaged the reputation of NSW. Now do I think Jocko is relevant to those events? No, and nor is he obligated to speak on them. Jocko can only speak to where he was in the specific time frame of the GWOT and the people he commanded in Iraq. A lot of people are trying to put all the NSW BS that has transpired over 20 years and putting it at the feet of Jocko because of his success as a public figure and his platform. The only thing for me that I’m really not sure about is Chris Kyle. That dude flat out “bragged” about punching Jessie Ventura in the face and sniping looters from a sports stadium during the Katrina disaster. Among other things, that Antihero podcast and Green Beret Chronicles was not the 1st time Kyle has been accused of lying, exaggerating, beating his wife and killing unarmed civilians. IMO, Jocko absolutely is obligated to talk about him and the allegations. Jocko was not only in charge of Chris Kyle in TF Bruiser, but a lot of Jockos original fame came from that past relationship and the success of American Sniper. In that separate case, I would like to get some context from Jocko.

This new green beret chronicles video has two marines on it. They are saying they saw task force unit bruiser kill civilians. One of them was an officer.

Jocko allowed Chris Kyle to operate recklessly on the battlefield.

Dude, you need to explain *WHY* Eric, two Marines, Green Berets, and other Spec Ops are making these claims w/ nothing to gain. Do they just hate you, Jocko? Is it clout for an upcoming book? Is it born out of spite/hatred for SEALs? The barrage of videos coming from Green Beret Chronicles is going to continue escalating, and I don't see this "drama" ending any time soon. You seriously *NEED* to address the motivation for why so many seemingly legit sources are willing to speak publicly about gross misconduct committed by the SEALs & Task Unit Bruiser.

Why does nobody ask why he hasnt went through chris kyles book with all of his outrageous claims. Particularly in 2005 when hurricane Katrina happened, and kyle claims he smoked looters. When at that time, he should've been training up for this deployment?

I been reading and seeing reports about this. I’m been Waiting on this Response. My little brother served in Ramadi in 06 in the Army and we have spoke about this. It infuriates him that these accusations are being made Especially when there are some not here today to defend themselves against these heinous Attacks. I would like to personally thank Task Force Bruiser for bringing my Brother home. He told me that his unit came under heavy fire and had it not been for you and your team he and his unit would have suffered heavy casualties and that he might not of made it Home from that Deployment. Here's how the grift works: 1.) Find and target high profile individuals. 2.) Make a KZfaq video with wild accusations about that individual. Bonus points if you use clickbaity words in the title like "THE TRUTH", "the REAL story" or "EXPOSED". 3.) Deploy a few minions or use a burner account to go to other channels and direct people to your video. 4.) On your video, people will watch out of curiosity, click "like" or "dislike" and comment, which drives up engagement. 5.) Sit back and watch the money roll in from the clicks and ad revenue. 6.) Repeat steps 1-5 with a different target. I'm quite familiar with this process because I've been on the receiving end of it. If you see one of these videos pop up, don't click, don't watch and don't engage. These people are trying to prey off of the success of others and are running a deeply cynical scam. I wasn't there so not sure what to believe. The question that I have is "Why would this information be put out on the web if Task Unit Bruiser was all operating like hero's". If this is all about Player Hating someone is putting their nuts on the line. It is tough when you create a business and leadership company based upon a narrative that is in question. I was SOF in Iraq February 06-September and to completely dismiss this and act like war crimes weren’t committed on a regular basis and 99% wasn’t swept under the rug is a lie and you know it. I wasn’t with you but I heard stories while I was on the ground. The truth will come out eventually.

Jocko, with all due respect when I served with the Marines in 06, the buzz around was that your unit was reckless. Everybody knew it. The higher ups knew it. So saying that you were in charge, and there was no criminal investigation doesn’t mean that your unit didn’t kill civilians it was an open secret within the unit.

Whoever wrote the letter should be brought onto the podcast and given time to present their information and any evidence they have for whatever they are saying.

Jocko, remember in Musashi when Sasaki Kojiro put up all of those disparaging posters calling Musashi a coward around the town: the same exact thing is happening to you now, only with modern technology. Don’t give in, and know that we stand by you no matter what lies are fabricated to attack your character.

I really wonder if some of these allegations are starting because Jocko has started to get more vocal on political issues. As soon as good men get involved in politics you can be sure accusations and smears will come.

As a civilian who has never served in the military, I am so grateful to Jocko and the lessons he has shared from his experiences. Clouding the issue in the second half of this video when talking about how all ops had to be approved. Having approval for an op doesn’t signify what actually takes place on the op. It doesn’t implicitly explain away who is left dead on the floor of a target site, or why, when everyone withdraws. As a Marine sniper I will testify that there are so, so many times when NO ONE can see what a sniper can see through his optic, meaning that the person in the window 600m away can’t be seen by anyone but me. So, if I were to pull the trigger and call a hit, no one knows the status of the endexed target but me. It’s very easy to do things no one will know about in so many situations, even when you have other troops supporting your mission. He keeps talking about people “in the know”. Yes, Jocko. A lot of us are in “the know” and not in the way you describe. We actually do know and we know how easy it was to do things that simply stayed in-house. You know it and so do we. For everything that someone happened to see indicators of things you guys are accused of, there is the iceberg of what isn’t seen. Facts, and true for any unit. The things you do for free for people? It’s not just you Jocko, it’s Kyle and Marcus and just the lies that are now coming out. Kyle is dead and can’t defend himself but you Jocko and Marcus are still here. All evil deeds done in the dark will be brought to the light wether that is here on earth or when you face God for judgment

Eric Deming and Green Beret Chronicles really showed themselves to be gossiping little girls. They shame their communities.

The easiest way to clear this up is for NCIS or FBI to investigate the whole deployment and let the chips land where they land, I saw they guys interview, and he sounded very credible. As a former SNCO (E9), if what the E8 said is true, the entire SEAL command should be worried along with yourself and others on TF Bruiser. I'm hoping it isn't true because I like what you're putting out.

The Marine officer who wrote that letter appeared in person on the Green Beret Chronicles Podcast. He's real and he's standing by his claims. Why would he lie about this stuff Jocko? Marines don't mindlessly fabricate insults about other servicemembers the way SEALs do (in fact nobody makes stuff up the way the SEALs do). Marines don't just make this stuff up out of nowhere. Go do an interview on the Green Beret Chronicles Podcast and clear your name or else you're cowering in fear.

This is a man who knows how to hold back, and only speak the truth to his enemies.

I find it so ironic that the Navy Seal insignia (The "Trident") displays an eagle with a bowed head to show humility. To receive a trident is to enter into a contract of sorts. With the understanding that using your military experience to make a profit is not only despicable, but also runs a massiverisk to those still doing the job by revealing SOPs TTPs and general information pertaining to duty. Thes guys tarnish the reputation and should not be trusted.

A few things to note here. One, it would be nice if we got back to a time where the public just didn’t know about the things that you i’ll have to do overseas to keep us free. The American public is not ready for those conversations. Two, if you look at and listen to the cadences that are sung during Boot Camp, basic training, and any other type of initial military training, they don’t necessarily promote cooperation between the branches. So you’re taking new boots from whatever town and whatever childhood and adolescent experience/trauma They’ve endured for 18 years and you put them in this one place where you do what you have to do to get them to work together as a team but then you talk about the other team who’s on the same team as you and cadence form. Every day.when they are the most impressionable. Then, you make them trained to destroy the enemies of America, which I’m for, and then discharge them after while to do with whatever skill they learned in the military? Then, they see Jocko and other people who are more than just the rifle doing their thing and being successful at it and they get mad because they want that success too. Why not me? And so now they begin to attack each other on the outside of the military . Because when there’s no one they can actually fight with reach, what’s the thing that siblings do? Fight each other. As a behavioral management specialist, who has served in the army and in various communities as a police officer who is currently pursuing a doctorate in traumatology, I can tell you that this is not surprising. The United States military along with law-enforcement and other occupations noisily capitalize on the unresolved traumas of people in certain communities to attract candidates for military service. They continuously use those traumas to motivate those persons to do the militaries bidding while teaching them how to resolve that trauma. Because if they resolve it, they may not want to be here anymore. And then you set them free with a DD 214 and the promise of aftercare when depending upon who that person was and became during their military service, if you were lost before you went in and you didn’t find yourself and who you could be outside of the military while you were in, this is why people are attacking Jocko and others who have found more life and meaning outside of the military using their experiences from the military and law enforcement to continuously make the dash between those dates of birth and death matter. Keep going Jaco. You’re doing fine. I could clearly see the heat and the hate they are giving you. Keep going. Keep going.

My pops was in nam the whole time. He told me on 4th of July, that he loved it. He was a warrior. He always took the high road. But he was deadly serious. To think that he had stones thrown at him for his actions. At the end of the day he would have done anything to bring home Americans.

After the Abu Ghraib incident we couldn’t even have a fuckin playboy magazine in our foot locker while in theatre. If you did ANYTHING out of line for any reason it was an Article 15 at a minimum. No one dared violate rules of engagement. The idea that troops got away with outright murder is fucking preposterous.

I was a squad/section leader in B 1/36 during that deployment. I saw that old grey haired dudes video trash talking and I hope you sue that dude for damages. You know it's funny how people go to extreme measures to trash others around them to try and deflect scrutiny off themselves. We had a Marine die on our rooftop the morning of the push across the river, 1st day in sector, and I promise it wasn't anyone's fault but his own for standing on a roof with snipers in the area. It was his own lack of self awareness that got him. We had 13 more months of things just like this that just happened. I hope that guy has to face you in court and defend his claims.

This is long, but I feel it needs to be said. I was actually in Iraq from April 06 to April 07 as a part of a USACAPOC unit responsible among other things, for COIN in Ramadi at the time. The task unit did have friction with 38 and with the CAT-A assigned to that AO. I have to admit that. The SEALs were looked at by some as a bit cavalier, not always team players, cowboyish. But war crimes? No. No way. Never heard a word uttered about that. And…I would have. I’m sure. There were definitely some skepticism on why they were running so many broad daylight missions. Particularly after Lee and Mansour were killed. Definitely some Monday morning QBing after those events. But war crimes? Hell no. And war crimes suspicions were always shared spontaneously through the ranks. So again, I would have heard about it. Particularly when again, I was reporting to a cell at MND-B who at the time was the division supporting civil military operations for that part of MNF-W. I regularly was in meetings with division general officers and often when topics like reported illegal action was brought up. Never heard a peep about this. Now, was Kyle a liar about some of his exploits…unequivocally yes. And that went beyond Ramadi OIF 06-07. But I never once heard of war crimes in relation to him. I agree this letter does not make sense as it is true investigations would have been oppressively present and the TU would have been stood down. That was not happening. I can tell you first hand. Remember, TU Bruiser was a vanilla unit. They were operating with the full knowledge, and oversight of the battle space command. They aren’t a unit like CAG or The Command or even the Activity reporting to the executive branch directly. So to say they were somehow protected from above, just doesn’t make any sense. If anything, NCIS was on speed dial by 38s CO. Vanilla units are in the spotlight, not operating in obscurity. Do I believe there is more to the story to how Kyle later died, absolutely. But I find it highly unlikely it was due to his previous knowledge and exploits in Ramadi half a decade previously. I am not here to simp for anyone. I actually have some problems philosophically with the marketing of special operations and certain personalities that are without a doubt enriching themselves by embellishing their military prowess or worse, outright lying about where they were and what they did. I know for a fact these scumbags exist. I have no evidence or first or even second hand knowledge pointing to Jocko being of that ilk. And if you want me to name names of who I’m talking about, I am not afraid of doing so. One final thought. Remember, certain things Jockos recent accusers are 💯 true in relation to several of those bad actors I’m describing. Red Wings and Luttrell’s true conduct vs the Lone Survivor account, Slab and Szymanski and Roberts Ridge screwing of Chapman detailed by people like Matt Cubbler do pass the smell test and more. Their comments in regards to TU Bruiser, do not. Just because Matt is likely right about some shit shows, does not mean he’s right about this.

I was no where near Ramadi. But those men who fought bleed and died over there are heros. I was on a ship but when we did see the T/U we held the most respect for them.

According to the 3/8 marines website. The 3rd battalion, 8th Marine regiment lost 17 kia during their 6 months in Ramadi. Not the 36 Marines lost that was being claimed by a Marine XO.

If I was Jacko I would not tolerate any claims which question my integrity, effect the reputation of my unit and (above all)- mar the honor of my country. I would sue the piss out any person or podcast who promotes/perpetuates them. Unless those claims were true.

I don’t really find many of these reasons convincing, but we don’t know anything for sure. - this couldn’t happen because our command wouldn’t let it (SEAL history says otherwise) -repeating the propagandist lines about how Bruiser “achieved victory on the battlefield” and was considered “the model for counterinsurgency in the Iraq War” is a good way to make sure that you stay protected by the SEAL brand -a lot of emphasis on how “disgusting”, “insulting” and “disrespectful” these claims are to the heroes (emotional manipulation tactic) -‘everything we did was watched closely’, but also saying ‘we were in an intense kind of sustained urban combat that SEALs hadn’t experienced’ so its highly likely they would not be trying to second guess you right in the middle of this. -repeatedly Politician-like tactic of referencing the heroes and the fallen and quoting the Declaration of Independence and Shakespeare in a highly dramatic fashion. Misdirection techniques …its a lot of sound and fury but ultimately signifying nothing.

It's so easy to vandalize what others have PAINstakingly built. He and I could not be more politically opposed, but his message is as timeless as Zeno and Aurelius, and as contemporarily relevant as General Hackworth. As a veteran, teacher, and human being, I consider him to be one of my greatest mentors.
