I saw the movie, I didn't even know how toxic that animal was. It's certainly egg shell stuff, but I know some feminists are going to rip this shreds. The Weinstein case is a combination of violence, shame, embarassment and the limitations of culture, honour and tradition. Curiously we had white European white Amerivmcan, Hispanic, and East Asian women but no Black women. and all of them were middle class.

To bad as a society we still fail the victims.... notice how "me too" is all but forgotten... Once the media realized a majority of the scum are Dim donors and other leftist celebs the MSM political bias took over... Hell many Dims would not even give the donations back for the predator donors.... all covered up for political gain and power... we all know power corrupts - we will get no where till media hold Dims to the same stds as the right! Watch the tiny minority conservative media rips the republicans daily as they should....MSM treats the most corrupt Dims as heroes... outright lies, half truths, even caught mfg things many times... hell our own leftist President shakes hands and reads the punctuation off a teleprompter and they ignore -worse show his failures if not outright illegal actions - ignored.

@DocFunkenstein
@DocFunkenstein 4 жыл бұрын
Except the system does (usually) work for both. The problem is that the accusers aren't willing to accuse because of their own heads. "They'll think I'm a slut!" "My reputation will be ruined if I say anything!" "My career will be over!" That's all on them and their outlook. In rape cases it's even worse, because they wait too long, don't fight back, and etc., thus destroying any possible evidence they'd have to back up their accusations. That's not the legal system's fault; that's people believing bullshit. The problem with the accused is the media and public opinion. They instantly jump on any such accusation like sharks sensing a drop of blood in the water. The legal system handles it properly, but that doesn't matter to these morons. The whole #metoo movement actually /personifies/ that outlook. If a court of law determines that the accusation was true, or there's sufficient evidence made public proving it to the public despite the legal system, that's one thing. But someone just saying "he did so and so!" is not, should not, and must not be allowed to ruin people's life just because of rabid sociopaths. Or in other words: The legal system works just fine when it's allowed to. Accusers being stupid and the public/media being stupid to the accusers is the problem; neither of which are part of the actual "system."

I love how they and their stories are not at all encouraging collective man-hating or radical hysteria, but in fact shares the real story of clever, thoughtful, brave journalists who have given the Weinstein victims (+ all victims of sexual harassment/abuse anywhere) a voice. It's important to keep the conversation going. When the me-too movement hit hard I thought to myself I personally know guys from the 80s that are probably crapping in their pants waiting for their victims to come forward from workplace harassment or rape. @@fandeadvirus3816 - No, it's not to do with having screws loose. Maybe at the extreme end of the spectrum like Weinstein and Cosby there is pathology. But mainly it is just people thinking they can get away with it and also believing they are entitled to touch women, to, a la Trump, 'grab their pussy', to rape women, to verbally abuse them. Women are not as strong as men and men factor this into their behaviour - plus with the incredibly low rate of conviction it's low risk to the rapist and abuser.

No. But an accusation can be evidence where there is no witness or other evidence which is often the case in rape and sexual abuse. It is for a jury / judge to decide on credibility. I'm a big fan of both Stephen and Jon since way back, and I honestly believe they need to put more efforts in making positive impacts regarding this issue. They could, say, set up a round table inviting five or six most important figures in comedy, discussing openly and publicly about how they could have let things like Louis CK happen, being de facto enablers for such a long time (supposedly unwittingly), and what they could do to help make sure these never happen again. Steps like that would be a great contribution not only to the comedy community, but also to the whole discussion in general.

These two journalists should be applauded for their good work and the help to take down a pervert in Weinstein. But don't confuse that with the failure that is now #MeToo, where people post allegations or gossip and assume to be taken seriously or that no investigation need to take place before sentencing the accused - the opposite of what the good work of Jodi and Megan shows! Investigations are very important, reporting on events happening is very important - assuming guilty before proven is not.

If Harvey Weinstein was so bad, and dealing with his sexual advances was so traumatic, why did the many young aspiring actresses who went through this experience to get jobs and subsequently became superstars worth tens or hundreds of millions of dollars, could command millions per movie, had a huge media presence and millions of adoring fans, not speak out about Weinstein years ago so that subsequent generations of aspiring young actresses without their power and influence wouldn't have to go through the same experience? Providing sexual services for gain is called 'prostitution'. There is nothing brave about admitting to it!

So glad to see this now. KZfaq. Why secrets this woman keeps? I don't know I have family in with him. I'm one woman that worked television content I gave away as long as I used another personnna a man's name!!. Harvey delegates his absurd behavior also. I escaped. The residual from my family though is incredible. An older couple in my family. Swapped had secret babies. All for getting a movie done?! Like famous actresses my half sister's. Bearing a baby or no movie? I'm just a writer Creator. I just looked the other way.

I love the fact that they have dragged one of the ugliest truths of our times to the light and all the accolade they've accomplished are earned. What bothers me is another fact that they have turned a blind eye on the " culture of sex " and behavior of " SOME .... and i repeat .... SOME " women participating in said sex culture. BTW, if these ladies have been effected by such horrendous facts and stories, they should cut back on the constant SMILES for camera ops.

I have always had very mixed feelings about #metoo. Too many of the incidents were "alleged." The celebrities who ratted out Weinstein (among others) drew attention to the movement which was a good thing. But careers were ruined; Louis C.K. on the basis of these allegations and Senator Al Franken -- despite offering to testify before the House Ethics Committee (hahaha!), -- resigned and he hasn't reappeared since, at least on the political scene. I don't know if Franken ever got his day in court. Innocent until proven guilty?
