I've been following the Harvey Weinstein story for awhile for now and it just hit me that unfortunately for Harvey, he preyed upon such strong, intelligent women in their own right. He only silenced them temporarily. The way they speak is very insightful, articulate, and intelligent. They only needed others to believe them and support them. Thank you to The New York Times and The New Yorker for their character, integrity, and tenacity in pursuing this story. Jody Kantor, Megan Twohy, and Ronan Farrow earned their shared Pulitzer Prize.

No one should have anything ever again to do with Lisa Bloom

In America, payouts are tax deductible. So brother Bob was using the payments as tax deductions. Also, HR does not represent the employee. They represent the corporation. If HR says, "tell me where it hurts". They are only asking so they can go and report to the Board of Directors who can then protect the corporation.

Fact is, these women are not actors. There is no fake tears. No dramatics to a listening audience. Such truthful honesty.

As it’s so hard to prove in court, I think it’s time for those who understand the dynamics of such to help women understand what they need to do when experiencing sexual harassment & assault to better their chances of winning their case & holding men abusing women to account…

Why attorney Lisa Bloom (who proclaims to be a women's rights advocate...) would associate herself with Harvey Weinstein boggles my mind - considering that Gloria Allred (a women's rights attorney...) is her mother. I just lost all respect for Lisa Bloom. Money and "fame" clearly comes before integrity and common decency for some people... How can we change societies that see women as nothing more than objects? I believe that more women have to place themselves in positions of power (across the board...), and we have to fight for absolute equality (in pay, and all other areas...). Furthermore, education in this matter begins at home - and, it should continue within the school system. Also, domestic violence (which occurs against both women and men...) needs to be addressed - and stricter laws (and punishments...) applied to prevent it from happening.

I enjoyed listening to this discussion, particularly the answers to the audience's questions, which created a more meaningful portion of the meeting. I did not enjoy the fact that the victims/survivors were omitted from the first round of introductions, then when they were finally introduced, almost as an afterthought, they were merely described as" former assistants to Harvey Weinstein", showing a total indifference and ignorance of who they are now, in great contrast to the lengthy, warm praise which had been given to to the chair's fellow journalists and their accomplishments. The chair failed to acknowledge that Zelda Perkins had resigned in support of her colleague, to great personal cost, in an exemplary, brave and principled show of solidarity and support, or indeed anything else. Later the chair made the assumption that two highly intelligent and intellectual women would have been ignorant of the potential consequences of breaking their non-disclosure agreement and exposing the sexual misconduct of a vindictive, dangerous predator who had millions of pounds at his disposal to exact whatever vengeance he chose, and who was known to have evaded justice for years by silencing victims with threats, intimidation and sexual assault. Later when a journalist in the audience asked about how best to sensitively approach victims and survivors. The chair actually asked one of the journalists to answer that question, rather than posing it to the experts, who are the victims and survivors themselves. The journalist was only able to describe a totally shameful example of what NOT to do. "Giving victims and survivors a voice" peppered the discussion as a empty catchphrase, rather than a goal of the discussion. The journalists had already had their voices heard loudly and clearly, and this would have been a golden opportunity to speak to the other women - highly articulate, gifted and intelligent women whose personal experience was at the heart of the entire discussion.

When NDAs negatively affects the boundaries of a legal marriage, can they be challenged in court?

What was Lisa Bloom thinking? Surprised if she still has a law license.

At my first job one of my bosses would casually "massage" my back and he would welcome women by saying "hello you're all dolled up" today. He later said that he had no idea he was doing anything wrong. This was a casting and advertising firm fwiw. I'm so sorry for not asking him to stop.

This is easy. Mothers love your sons and teach them right from wrong. Fathers, be a good example for your sons. Problem solved

I also saw the movie based on the book. You can see how hard it was for the 2 reporters and the dynamics of them working for corporations that Harvey could reach and bully. Rowena was a victim of Harvey despite the fact that she was picked for the job because of her race. Executives in the company knew Harvey was a predator, and had heard that he didn’t sexually prefer Asian women. That shows just how baked in and messed up people’s understanding of sexual harassment and assault is. It’s about an assertion of power, not about being aroused by their victim. Nuns get assaulted too! I’m so proud of these ladies who came forward at great personal expense for all our daughters, sisters and mothers.

Harvey and predators like him are not the main problem. The main problem is the system favoring money rather than justice. That's why victims felt they have noone to turn. We've seen too many riches getting away with most sickening abuse just because of expansive lawyers. The pressure should be focused on government institutions. It's the only way.

Difficult conversation for those women but I learned a lot from this discussion.

However, it is important to acknowledge that the power dynamics in these situations are often skewed heavily in favor of the men, who hold the keys to success and can easily abuse their position of authority. Additionally, it is crucial to remember that sexual coercion and assault are never acceptable, regardless of the gender of the perpetrator or victim.

So what was the evidence that got Harvey convicted?

Although I have had my very own #metoo moment, this whole concept of the brilliant and courageous female whistleblowers & reporters just opened the floodgates for us all and i thank you for it! Fantastic questions from the audience too!!! Incidentally, ive just watched She Said thw movie!!! 👌🏽

The me to movement works when victims speak the truth about their attackers, but it is very demoralizing when they use the movement for personal gain. Like Amber Heard did. You need to be careful who you signed up to be a representer of the movement.

Didnt the assistants arrange several of the attacks for Harvey so that the actresses would be alone with him? It seems kind of crazy that they get treated like heroes when many accounts like those of Rose McGowan say that the assistants surrounding him made it happen and kept it quiet. Seems like muzzling stories pays off well to those who instruct Black Cube. Do we have any laws against these type of investigations, globally? Could we apply the Global Magnitsky Act, to bullying and harassment? When we say NO, we man No💜

Our species will come to the realization that the sociocultural construct we call patriarchy tracks through our entire history. This construct is global, and so ubiquitous that most of us take it for granted that its "natural." It's not; witness how few and just who this construct benefits the most: old white men. Our technology has shown a bright light on the damages wrought by this construct. Women's voices are being heard. Please keep a macro level perspective, which reveals that we are indeed witnessing what promises to be our spiritual quantum leap, if we can get there.

NDA's must be banned. An agreement cannot eliminate 1st amendment rights, especially to tell one's own story to however tgey want to. I can understand NDA's for trade secrets. But absolutely not to forbid victims from warning other. Not to protect nor shield, predators, criminals, from being exposed and prosecuted in the future.
