Beautiful song. I remember buying Jody's 'Flower' CD as an expensive Japanese import in 1998 when Atlantic Records cancelled it's release in America.

I loved this song! It came at the end of a long relationship, it, along with other cuts off the album took me from grief to triumph. I never understood why the record company didn't get behind this album and promote the hell out it. It showed growth, depth and strong song writing skills. Thank you for sharing this video.

You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it. I believe that some of the promotional issues (and unfortunately, the ultimate shelving of the project, at lease here in the States) had to do with the fact that JW had been signed to a division, Big Beat, which ended up being absorbed into Atlantic around the time this album was completed. So often, when there's a change of hands at a major, many quality artists become casualties.

You are correct about projects getting shelved when there is a turnover at a label. Something similar happened to the Sylvers years ago when they were at Capital and then again at Casablanca. I think this is what inspired JW to start her own label Avatone. Once again thank you for sharing and for the response.

Isn’t this the song that was originally recorded in 1998 with Howard and Jeffrey as the first song sung by the original trio of the 80’s and the producer ended up scrapping it because Howard wasn’t singing right his parts? I read that on Jody’s website.
