I love this song! When I hear that melody at the start, I can close my eyes and be immediately taken back to such good memories and happy times in the 80s. The way this video uses every 80s technique is awesome. The neon colors and color blocking, satin sheets, use of light and shadow, it's so great. Not forgetting Jody and her natural beauty. She sang about taking back her power back long before the wannabes of today.

That's exactly how it was! Top 40 radio in the 80's had a diversity I haven't heard before or since. You could turn on the radio and hear R&B, funk, early hip-hop, new wave, punk and post-punk, hard rock, metal, 2nd wave ska, reggae, country rock, blues, folk, house, 50's and 60's revivalism, college rock, sophisticated pop like Sade, Latin freestyle, world music, and a lot more...all in the same programming block. I can't imagine turning on the radio today and hearing Jody Watley, Duran Duran, Sade, Eddy Grant, George Michael, and Janet Jackson back to back, but in the 80's that kind of thing happened all the time!

Miss Jody Watley gave us this monstrous HIT. She had her own STYLE. In 1987 in New York City FREESTYLE MUZIK was being heard on the AIRWAVES BUT Miss Jody Watley, Janet and Whitney gave us a different style. Listen to SHALAMAR and hear a young Jody Watley who isn't hardly mentioned as one of the best female vocalist of the MUSICAL EIGHTIES the BEST era for MUZIK of the 20th century...❤🎹🎼🎶🎵❤

Every time I see one of these modern day wanna be "dancer/singers" I've got to clean my palate with some good ol' 80's jams.

Hasta la vista, baby You gave me love, you did me wrong Didn't know what to do But baby, I'm strong, gonna get over you A new boy I'm gonna choose , you'll see My love was true, still you threw it all away Now other guys will have me, they'll appreciate my love Tell me, how does it feel You know that I needed you You know that you meant the world to me You know I had to have you Now I'm gonna find somebody new I'm looking for a new love, baby A new love, yeah yeah yeah I'm looking for a new love, baby A new love, yeah yeah yeah Was she hot, did she turn you out? Curiosity rules my brain Was she worth my heart? It's torn all apart Are you going back again? Tell me My love was true, still you threw it all away But now you're like the rest, unworthy of my best Hasta la vista, baby You know that I needed you You know that you meant the world to me You know I had to have you Now I'm gonna find somebody new I'm looking for a new love, baby A new love, yeah yeah yeah I'm looking for a new love, baby A new love, yeah yeah yeah I'm looking for a new love, baby A new love, yeah yeah yeah I'm looking for a new love, baby A new love, yeah yeah yeah You know that I needed you You know that you meant the world to me I had to have you Now I'm gonna find somebody new I'm looking for a new love, baby A new love, yeah yeah yeah I'm looking for a new love, baby A new love, yeah yeah yeah I'm looking for a new love, baby A new love, yeah yeah yeah I'm looking for a new love, baby A new love, yeah yeah yeah Other guys will have me, they'll appreciate my love Tell me, how does it feel Now you're like the rest, unworthy of my best Hasta la vista, baby I'm looking for a new love, baby (Other guys will have me, they'll appreciate my love) I'm looking for a new love baby (Tell me, how does it feel) I'm looking for a new love baby (Now you're like the rest, unworthy of my best) I'm looking for a new love baby, a new love I'm looking for a new love baby, a new love I'm looking for a new love baby, a new love Hasta la vista, baby

Jody wore those '80s fashions well, didn't she? She owned her various looks. This video has pretty interesting images - nice '80s-style video.
