This is going to sound insanely strange but...are they told how to lift the boxes up? For example they have wine underneath the boxes if they don't lift the box all the way up iy would easily knock the glass over and break. So I guess I'm wondering if, because it's a "mystery box", if they're told before hand to always take the top off a specific way just incase there is something like a bottle of wine that can easily be broken if knocked over. Random pondering over.
@corruptangel6793

I like how he questions everything they do. It's a good way to test their confidence and make sure they're really thinking through everything they're doing. I feel like creative people need to know when to stick with their vision and when to heed advice and adapt. I've found with my own works that inducing doubt can be very helpful. Stressful as all hell, but helpful nonetheless. At least that's what I like to think he's doing 😆 It's hard to tell if he's a stern man who means well and just comes across as harsh, or if he's just a genuine narcissist.

Why are judges mean, like it’s just a cooking contest 🙄

Season 1 of Canada tried to be like the US version where they make it more like a reality show than about the cooking, But that all changed in Season 2 onward, Canada did it's own thing and focused more on what the competition was about.

It was only for season 1, the producers probably made them act like gordon. Afterwards, in the next seasons the judges are actually kind and gives actual constructive criticism

Weird that he himself is Italian, they tasked them to cook Italian food, and he is so shocked that Eric is chopping 'too much' garlic, like, I've binge watched tons of Pasta Grannies video on KZfaq and I tell you, those grannies who cooked from years of expertise always use tons of garlic for their Italian food, really makes me doubt if this guy really knows what he is talking about.
