This was in Denmark. The main fight was Tyson vs Brian Nielsen. I watched it at work. Everybody wanted to see Brian Nielsen against Tyson. I did not know who Calzaghe was but I remember the beating Will McIntyre took. The may be the fight that made me a fan but I don't remember for sure.

I felt sorry for will, he had a lot of guts, he was willing to keep going even though he couldn get a decent punch in,,I don't think it's fair on conventional boxers having to face a south paw,,I knew Joe was going to win as soon as the first round started,,well done again Joe,,,

When I saw this fight, I knew that I would put my money on Calzaghe vs Kessler and so I did and netted £500 . Sorry, Mikkel, who actually gave JC his toughest fight ever. 🥊
@sheruffa60323 жыл бұрын
I saw the match against Mikkel, disciplined, intelligent guy, his uppercut was putting Joe in trouble who had to adapt in the match and change tactics to be more balanced, Kessler was a really good boxer, people who criticize Kessler never went up in the ring, or in any case they do not understand boxing, when they see a Northern European boxer, or rather European, they tend to underestimate him, but I believe it is a question of spirit, passion, desire to reach the top making sacrifices, it is very important to have a next to him who believes in you, he can be a father, a coach, some figures are underestimated but in my opinion they are fundamental for growth, Greetings from Italy!

Calzaghe fought nothing but chumps and washed up former champs.

If it makes you feel better ... whatever you want! I thought it was like that too until I saw all his matches, and I must say that boxers like him are born every 30 years maybe!

I think you've got calzaghe confused with either naseem hamed or lennox lewis.

@@ryandurkin6729 you think lewis only fought chumps? Come back when you know something about boxing! 🤣

Well so did Rocky Marciano. He is considered the great undefeated heavy weight when indeed fought big name fighters that were spent over the hill and old. Like Joe Lewis a sick worn out old fighter. He also fought fighters with crappy records. Then when Floyd Patterson was on his way up kicking the crap out of everyone suddenly Marciano retired.

Typical Calzaghe title defense. The guys 9 in the WBO. Not even a C level fighter. THIS IS LONG AFTER HE WON THE WBO TITLE ... that’s why his 46-0 is looked at as a joke
@sheruffa60324 жыл бұрын
yes of course you know more than coaches and boxers! Boxers like Calzaghe come out every twenty or thirty years, trust me!
