It's been decades but I believe my late father told me the closest fighter that Louis ever fought that had a somewhat style of Ali was a fellow named atora cadora not pronounced right, if I remember my dad said cadora trained by riding a bicycle and moved around the ring a lot, fighters of that era wasn't known to do that ! My memory regarding this is not great but I think he said cadora was a ahead by points and was winning, he told his corner man I think I can knock Joe out ! He corner man begged him not to do it stay away from him he told him, he tried to slugg with Joe, big mistake, Joe knocked him out ! My dad said once Joe hurt you the fight was over ! Knock out. Even so my father believed Joe could beat Ali ! I'm not so sure ?

True... Ali was absolutely amazing in the '60s... I will say this though... I'll leave never fought anyone like Joe Lewis either... A fighter that did everything right, and didn't have any flaws, fast hands, not as fast as Ali's, but fast, and a pure boxer with knockout power.. This. 60s Ali was the best/prettiest boxer (and imo athlete) to grace the earth.

He fought someone who shared some similarities in Jersey Joe Walcott, and he gave both Marciano and Joe Louis trouble. He didn't have Ali's chin though which would cost him, and the similarities that they shared in footwork especially, were taken to a completely different level by Ali.

I think it takes getting older sometimes to get modesty. I think if Ali would’ve towed to Louis, joe would’ve been more apt to say, “Well you never know. I think joe Louis would have probably beat Ali. Joe only had trouble against pressure fighters or with great punching power and Ali was the total opposite of that. Joe’s timing would probably take Ali’s greatest feature away from him, his speed. Joe’s technical skills were also just as good or even better than Ali’s to make Ali have a difficult time

Tyson vs Ali would be spectacular to watch during the first rounds but I don’t see Tyson keeping up with Ali the entire 15 rounds, so Ali would most likely win on points. Joe would have it difficult here. Tyson’s explosiveness and power would overwhelm joe during the first rounds, and I also see Tyson knocking down the brown bomber a couple of times. Even if Louis didn’t have a good chin, he got up most of the time whenever he got floored to KO his opponents. Tyson never did this. If the fight lasts more than 5 rounds then Louis is definitely winning the fight by KO in the late rounds. Tyson’s only way of beating Louis would be by a knockout in the first rounds, but Louis is not gonna stand there to let Tyson beat him up. Louis has the power to knock down Tyson as well so this would depend on who knocks down who first.
