I believe they split high schools into classes, so LaSalle was class A, I think Johnston was like class B, this is going back 50 years ago, I still remember how physically dominating Johnston was, I believe one team member Paul Aiello, received a full ride to Brown, ironic because Lasalle's Tad Devine did as well, a dude I used to play pick up games with all summer, Mike Fascitelli is part owner of the Milwaukee Bucks, not bad, huh? The increased frequency and accuracy of the 3-point shot in today's NBA makes almost any lead not safe. Two made 3's and your 20 point lead is now 14. Add a 2-point shot, another 3, and maybe a 2 and 1, and we have a 6 point lead. And it can happen "like that."

He could just tell the truth and say our team most times sucks when it gets down late in the games. They fall apart which is one of those bad habits. I'm not gonna count tonight's game as much because it was mostly role players but it really doesn't matter. This happens with the starters. The one thing that worries me.

@thcknast
@thcknast Жыл бұрын
his point was that you don't look at shot making from a shot to shot perspective, you look at it from a game-flow perspective in that as long as you are executing correctly on the offensive end of the ball, the shooters will shoot at their natural percentages over time. You don't obsess over makes and misses, you obsess over the quality of the shots, and over the course of a season and post-season you will see more success than not. If you focus on makes and misses, you become a slave to the moment and start making decisions that aren't grounded in stable logic which increases the dependence on luck.
@codymanley40
@codymanley40 Жыл бұрын
If you are a 40% 3 point shooter and you go 0 for 4 than you shouldn’t lose confidence in your stroke because statistically the next 6 are dropping. This is a common way of thinking in sports where you know your percentages like golf or basketball. It’s an effective way to take the pressure off of a few bad strokes/shots. Sports are just as much mental as physical, fans who are not athletes themselves tend to overlook this.

The team is missing 3 starters, and they won by double digits… that’s not “choking a lead”. Any NBA team can go on a run, and get back in a game. Not every blowout is gonna stay that way like against the Nets. The key is managing the opposing team’s run, and staying discipline through it - which is exactly what Joe is telling the team to do. “Always blowing leads”… you probably haven’t watched much basketball around the league this year? No lead, against no team, is safe. With the three and an offensive firepower most teams have these days, ALL teams have been blowing leads. “Bad teams” today are bad defensively, but any team can put up 140 if allowed to. It’s the nature of the game today. As the leading candidate for COTY, Joe certainly understands that.
