Saw JPP open for Journey in summer of 1980 in Roch, NY. What a live performer!

It's great to see so many of the old skeletons still breathin', speakin', and even kickin'. I'm one of 'em. Back in the '60's and '70's, I always thought we'd all be dead by the year 2000.

Great Interview.. Eddie Trunk always delivers the goods! I love Aerosmith. I think their musical peak was with Permanent Vacation.. it has all the elements I think of with Aerosmith.. Cool! Macho! and Thundering Rock with fantastic fast grooves and deep hooks all the way through. AND, they were still the "bad boys" of rock. They didn't really sell out until Pump, where the lyrics all changed 180 degrees from being something a kids parents prayed their teens wouldn't listen to, to being themes that they hoped they would take to heart. Then they earned grammys and became the industry pet. Still, the music was great on Pump and Get A Grip, though the lyrics were the standard darling themes of the industry. Their macho attitude never the less drifted away, now in the company of pop stars rather than rock singers. I love everything from Aerosmith through the 80s, until they started earning Grammy's and singing downer tunes and cryin' type songs all the time. Music From Another Dimension tried to replace machismo with kinkyness, and it didn't work for me. It's a good pop album, but I love HARD ROCK. I wish they would close out their career with another DONE WITH MIRRORS! I sure hope Joe Perry didn't mean, at the end of the interview, that Done With Mirrors wasn't complete (because it didn't have choruses and horns and producer monologues and other fake music... We need a HARD ROCK ALBUM!!!! Instead of doing duets with Brittany Spears, Diane Warren and Carrie Underwood, why can't Steve Tyler get macho again and sing duets with some metal singers, and close out their career with the likes of Rob Halford, Bruce Dickinson, Joan Jett, Lita Ford, Ozzy Osbourne and Ian Gillian. We need some ROCK!!!! not pop. What's so frustrating about Music From Another Dimension is that you can tell they really worked way way way hard on it, especially Joe Perry and Brad Whitfords guitar licks, they really gets rockin' at time, and fast too, but then they add all these sappy sounds, neutered choruses and way to much kinky soul stuff. they fixed a feast and added snails and jelly beans all over prime rib dinner. Yuke!!!! Instead, split all that effort up into three albums, eight songs each, about 35 minutes is enough like the old days, and release them one year after the next, three years in a row, to end the music recording career with self respect, cause that's what it's going to take after 30 years of adding more kink and crying soul to each album, more and more, with giving something back to the hungry ears of guys who want to rock hard, with macho Aerosmith music. I reiterate, I Love Aerosmith, but don't want them to sound like either the Rolling Stones or Queen (their current direction). Stretch your limits once again, Aerosmith, but go back and expand on the sounds from Black Sabbath you forgot about, like on Hearts Done Time, Magic Touch, Simoriah, The Movie, those cool dark vibe grooves and hooks are what made me love Permanent Vacation, but Aerosmith always just dabbled toward the metal edge. Go there, all the way, and make it catchy and cool and macho. Thanks for reading my rant!!! Thanks! :-)

The only good record Aerosmith made since rehab was pump..that is a record u can listen to without skipping any tracks ..' vacation wasn't like that in my opinion..there's about 5 good songs on it. The movie hearts done time angel and a few others sucked.aerosmith don't seem to be able to make a record without outside writers there's just to much outside influence to the point where ur not really listening to Aerosmith. Most of the post rehab records are all over the place.

Listen people. If you do not like the way he talks, don't listen to the interview. He is a great guy and I just saw an interview where he said he was taught to treat people the way he would want to be treated.

Everyone makes fun of celebrities saying “‘ya know “ or “‘um “‘, put yourself in a position of YOU being LIVE on the radio , u don’t wanna say the wrong thing and your brain is scrambling to say exactly what you really wanna say . Not as easy as you think . So yea musicians and actors aren’t politicians, they play music .

One thing about JP is he will play really small shows with the JPP and make peanuts. He seems happy if he can just play.

Surprising they don't really know what many of the fans want. Who wants new, old outtakes of Dream On instead of a new record? And Done With Mirrors is raw and rocks but apparently Joe wanted it polished. We like hard Asmith not duets with Carrie Underwood.

First, you obviously were paying attention to what he was saying to be able to count his words. Personally, don't care about his 'ums' and 'you know'. He's a musician doing an interview. Its not like he's delivering a political speech or something. Second of all, "you know" is a powerful communication tool if calibrated right and not over used. It gets people to pay attention to what you're saying. Obviously it worked! :) So what if his speech isn't perfect! Its an interview!

Joe does not sound interested in making a new Aerosmith album. He has talked that way in other interviews. Too bad if MFAD is their last musical statement.

@TheMrSnyder fucked up for fans because been 10 years without a new album and I know for a fact they could make amazing 10 songs in a garage with 1 producer and just jam out not worry about selling 10 million . Just let the music do the talking. Joe last solo album was awesome. Just wish Tyler was on the vocals. I love Hollywood vanpires but not a fan of copper at all.

Damn Joe got thrown under the bus in Johnny Depp case him doing blow with him. Aerosmith supposed to be sober all this time and now we know far from the truth with Tyler in rehab.

Ive been a fan for 40 years and stuck with them through all of it. the good the bad the ugly .alot of bands don't have the luxury to make new albums Aerosmith still does so why would they not want to record ? They record all kinds of solo things but not aerosmith. Is it that difficult to sit down and write a song with Steven Tyler ? If it's that bad maybe its time to put the horse in the barn dont ride it until it's dead .I love this band but if the two main song writers can't or won't sit in a room and write a song then what's the point .the stones make new albums so no excuses.
