🎓 ABOUT GUY RITCHIE :
Guy Ritchie was born in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, UK on September 10, 1968. After watching Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) as a child, Guy realized that what he wanted to do was make films. He never attended film school, saying that the work of film school graduates was boring and unwatchable. At 15 years old, he dropped out of school and in 1995, got a job as a runner, ultimately starting his film career.
He quickly progressed and was directing music promos for bands and commercials by 1995. His work includes British gangster films, King Arthur, Aladdin and the Sherlock Holmes films starring Robert Downey Jr.

It's very funny to me that almost all the modern philosophical or self help content is basically just rediscovering everything the Bible explores after so much of society has cast it out as nonsense. I'm not even a Christian, I just recognize that there's a damn good reason that book has been as relevant as it has been for so long, it's an absolute wealth of wisdom and teaches the ways to lead a truly fulfilling life despite the suffering that can occur through it.
@vincentblack7856
@vincentblack7856 2 жыл бұрын
And Bible is mainly a collection of rewritten stories and myths from around the world. You can track origins of most such stories. Which takes us back as far as to Sumeria. For example 10 commandments are estimate to be written after the law of some king and many are almost identical. So Jews wrote them down and as usually changed origin so everything across the book is consistent. So we kind of still living in setting of the first city and civilization. We have property, we trade etc. I think that when you have some consistent elements in a system called civilization and it stays mostly the same for thousands years, no wander same things happens. Someone get rich, someone get broken, someone is jealous, someone is generous. But when you compare what modern specialists and philosophers developed, this old texts are not that well defined and sometimes cover more thruth than actually unveil. For example someone can't make a fortune so he repeats a story how being wealthy makes life worse. Thru content of the story is that most people must reconcile that they will always have average income, so they stick within this story. Another factor is that we notice stories on which we were brought up much more often. Many of this story-patterns we see in movies or books. Today we have statistics, we better know human behaviorisms and psychological mechanisms. For me that's more solid. Biblical texts are collection of knowledge gathered by many people but today we have bigger groups of specialist and more accurate methodology to analizę world. Just let's say internet ;) .

@@vincentblack7856 Here we go again. Another smart dude who says the Bible is just a copy of old pagan legends. Did you ever ask yourself why some of the ideas in the Bible are very similar to the Japanese gods even though they didn't touch each other at all? Carl Jung answered that question so you can look that up. Every myth has some unique aspect to it. The Judeo-Christian tradition is the best there is. Figure out why.
@vincentblack7856
@vincentblack7856 2 жыл бұрын
@Archelt There is more in Bible than copies of legends. There is also new, oryginał content, there is a lot of classic stories but adapted to new content. There are new stories, obviously. Saying that Bible is copy-pasta is just a flattening of it's content. It's a rich book. I wanted to point in progression of traditions accompanying development of civilizations. If you put it all together, Bible is just a small part of the whole story. Also so called Judeo-Christian tradition started to impact civilization just recently and mainly for political reasons. So I would not put any holy book over another? Archetypes are interesting and widely described topic. I'm still in beginning of studying Jung writings but I believe I will find valuable content and learn a lot from his theories. Best tradition? What about Abrahamic tradition? What about Semitic tradition? Maybe it's too polytheistic to be the best tradition? Is there really best tradition? For sure this statement pairs wall with idea of One God? What about Islam? Is it more closer to roots or is it "worse" offspring tradition. I think that pointing one tradition tradition is the best is arrogant and ignorant for other traditions. Basically Judeo-Christian tradition was shaped by surrounding traditions, and some traditions were impacted by Judeo-Christian. Think of Greeks for example, how much they shaped future minds of Europe?

The biggest trick in life is believing you need it all to be happy, you/we don’t. I worked 30 years of my life (most of it at a job that payed very well) and I still put in crazy hours to make even more. Some people say they work a lot but I did, nights, almost all weekends and most every holiday for 30 years. Except all that money you save can be lost, have a serious illness and the hospitals take it from you (something I know all too well, because insurance won’t cover everything if it is too expensive). Or have any number of hardships that can take it all in a moments notice. In the end you’ll find the most valuable thing isn’t money. It’s time, don’t waste it working all the time (spend it with people that you love and hopefully that love you too). Now that my youth is wasted away at jobs that couldn’t care less about me… Maybe, just maybe, before I die I’ll be able to experience loving someone that actually loves me too.

The story is about the son being welcome back with open arms even though he wasted his inheritance, and when the older brother asked the dad why they were celebrating with a fatted calf the dad said behold this is your brother he was dead and he's now alive he was lost and now he's found so it's time to rejoice and for you you don't need to worry because you have all the inheritance coming to you because he wasted all of his. It's about being accepted back even if you were a fool in the past. It's a reflection of how God will accept us with open arms if we run to him

@bcobb7777 that's your opinion, no such thing as correct, just ignorance and wisdom through application of a given truth.Truth has varying levels of application. If you are dense, your interpretation and thus application will be dense... nothing wrong about that. The journey through separation is what brings us back home. Unification is only possible through separation, this is the paradox. How can we come home if we never left? Nothing foolish about it, it's existence. A continuous process of unification, separation, unifying only to separate again with each separation giving God more definition.

No, you have to experience life(be mature) before you realize what's real and what's transitory, ephemeral(for a short duration). That's the message of Bible story of prodigal son. There's is definitely such thing as suffering, don't be ridiculous. There's a difference between life lesson and being philosophical. If someone chops off your hand, or rapes a girl, is there no suffering? Obviously there is.
@donotbegullible

Are you suffering right 'Now'? In this very moment, is there any psychological suffering in you? Don't let your mind wander in the past or in the future and tell me in this very moment if there's really suffering. Albert Einstein said that past, present and future are only a stubbornly persistent illusion, so don't let your mind to always go back and forth to past and future. On a deeper level, suffering is just a psychological thing. Imagine for a second to remove your brain, will there be any suffering both physiological and psychological? The answer is very obvious. Physiological suffering (pain) is based merely on nerve signals going to brain and interpret it as unpleasant sensation while psychological suffering is basically based on negative thoughts and feelings which are caused by our mind. Some say that life is suffering. Maybe to you life is suffering but to me LIFE is a mystery with different kind of fleeting experiences. Period!

Just FYI. You're experience isn't the same as the older brother. Your parents, by your account, were horrible. But in the story, when the older brother complains, the father says to him, "You have been with me all along and everything I have is already yours." The older brother thought he had to earn his Father's love. He didn't. He could have had anything he wanted all along. God's Best to you.

The parable is about how God accepts us with open arms even though we turned our backs on him. He also told the story out of order the prodigal is thrown a party and then the older brother complains. The older brother represents people who were brought up in the faith and don't think people who were born again later in life deserve the grace they were freely given.

So the next question may be. Is it possible to prostitute ones self without any assurance of some aspect of self reward? If the material foundation of prostitution is selling sexual favors for coinage, then the prostitution spoken of in the video is prostitution of ones self by different definition. Spending coinage on momentary pleasures. Oh, the ways in which we prostitute ourselves. I did it without tying myself to either of these concepts. it was extremely pivotal in my own growth process. So in conclusion, I would have to agree with what is being presented about prostitution of ourselves, with one clarification, this occurs through very diverse and unique process's defined as per every individual experience. All things by degree.

This is the best explanation and interpretation of the wasteful son story that I have ever heard in my life. And we freaking did this in religion class and school and the teacher's conclusion is that the father loves the sons equally and the father is god and he will forgive the wasteful son and accept him to his kingdom once he realizes that he was wrong and repents. Fucking brainwashing I tell you what. Good for me that I always thought that explanation was a load of horseshit and dismissed all that propaganda which was fed to us in those classes.
@majorchungus
@majorchungus 2 жыл бұрын
Your religion class is shit. The true moral of the story is that the good son still has his inheritance intact while the wasteful son never get another helping of inheritance. His dad was just happy to have him back because hes a loving father and threw him a welcome home party. The good son got a little jealous but the good son still comes off way better in the end as far as we know it. Standard Christians close their mind to any concepts not directly taught in the Bible because they interpret it as being the only thing they need to even consider. They come to conclusions that are biblically unclear. Ie the Trinity, that everyone will burn in hell if they never confessed Jesus, the word rapture does not appear in the Bible but is talked about like it does, that pastors should get paid(its a scam in my opinion). I could go on.

The meaning is that God will welcome back with loving arms and be joyful about his lost children returning home to him. No matter how far astray we wander from the path, he will always be there happily accepting us into his loving arms when we turn away from the bad lifestyles we are living. It's more joyous for someone who has lost their way to return home than for someone to never have left home to remain home. It delights the Lord more when a sinner turns to repentance and come home into His loving arms. That is, turning away from the bad ways we were once living. A parent will always be filled with joy when their wayward son or daughter puts that behind them.

I mean... not everyone has read the story. And for people hearing what could very well be a perverse misconstrued interpretation of it for the first time, with an overarching positive theme, I think it's sufficiently deep? The philosophy is there and it's positive. It may not have all the nooks and crannies present in the original story but in saying what you have you're basically putting yourself above other people and I think you sir need to reevaluate your ego, and think about how you can conduct yourself better. If people thinking this is deep is an example of how far man has strayed to the point where you need to comment about it, you are living under a rock. There are far worse things you can do than find something that is objectively positive, deep. Good day.

Is your conscience bothering you? Why are defending this? The REASON he used the story is BECAUSE it’s well known and most people can draw on the parallels without having to retell the story. The fact that you see no issue with taking a sacred text and butchering it, might be your prerogative but it doesn’t change the fact that it altered the story beyond recognition. My frustration is that his use of the story butchered both the story and the overarching general template of its interpretation, and that, he felt perfectly fine to do so with a Scripture. Find something else to butcher and don’t disrespect a text many cherish. To add a cherry on top his butchering was praised as deep at the expense of butchering the text. Do I expect you to understand, if you show indifference to the sacred text? It doesn’t matter, it’s reflective of a society that has strayed and done away with the sacred whilst embracing humanism the all important SELF-
