@@Captain_Tool_Vicarious so far so good the gaming experience is spot on perfect and input lag is almost non existent. This freakn tv is bright colorful ans I overall love it. I have the 65 inch version which is exactly what I wanted. The speakers and subwoofer on it is insanely good.

@@jordi4384 We are in a waiting queue on Amazon for our Hisense U8H 55". Got it for $599. Can't wait to get this Monitor. We have a Roku TCL 55R625 right now, but it lacks the TV controls the Google versions do, and is only 60hz. So I'm super excited to get ours in February (hopefully sooner).

I’ve noticed the following; if I turn off ALLM while gaming, the image definitely looks lower res. Text on the PC looks bad and the image on PS5 looks ultra sharp but lower res. If I turn it on (FreeSync and ALLM) it looks slightly soft but appears to be 4K. Also, sometimes when playing with PC resolutions and refresh rate the backlight will go completely dark.

With the latest update you can get into the advanced settings menu and there should be a new option that let you choose between picture quality and better text, for PC the second one will make all the texts very clear without hurting the image, I also recommend to configure the image to be 8-Bit, seems that 4K 120HZ and 10-Bit works a little worse.

Just broke my H9G and ordered this hopefully it’s an upgrade as my H9G was amazing, only had a few artifacting issues but that could be from Wi-Fi streaming, can’t wait to get 120hz tho

Thanks for sharing all the settings. Really helpful 😃. I have the same TV and Nakamichi shockwafe 7.1.4 (SSE) and an Xbox series x connected to HDMI 4 and ARC to HDMI 3. I noticed that some times the Soundbar audio cuts out. Have you noticed the same issue at times?

I had that issue with the subs and rear surround speakers and it was interference with my router, I did a video on how to fix it, it sounds like sound breaks randomly, is that what you are going thru.?

@@JoelsterG4k Yes it's very random. I have FW35 and Direct Frequency setup to avoid interference with 5Ghz wifi. The soundbar stops playing audio but the sub and surrounds still play back audio resulting in a very muffled sound. Suddenly the soundbar center channel kicks in for about 5 sec of very clear audio and back to muffled. I just read your newest post where your mention you have the eARC (2022) version so maybe it doesn't show on your setup.

I bought this TV (Vidaa instead of Google TV/ Europe Version) and for whatever reason the PS5 is pretty dark and washed out. Enhanced HDMI is on (HDMI4) , I don't know what's the problem. It was way brighter on my Sony x900e... Any ideas?

Game mode has a lower input lag for gaming. That's why the image changes.

Bullshit. Low input lag setting doesn't downgrade the picture quality. You always have the adjust the settings yourself to get the best picture quality.

There are just diffirent pre sets. Game mode doesn't look like that for a good reason.. its just a stupid pre set. Adjust the picture yourself!

The manufacturer advertises it to support 4k @ 120Hz Dolby Vision gaming, but it's not working at the moment, and with the Xbox Dolby Vision is limited to 4k @ 60Hz. If you start playing a game that supports Dolby Vision and you have the refresh rate set to 120Hz, it'll fall back to HDR10 instead.

I was wondering the same thing. Been watching and reading review after review, and came across this one review and you could see the banding. Been looking at Hisense and TCL. TCL just seems like you have to do more manual settings for Xbox Series X because it doesn't automatically adjust.

Idk how I feel about this tv playing red dead redemption 2 on hdr game mode there’s lines all over the screen in dark pictures and it just looks greyed out and cloudy and foggy

Question..im thinking about getting this TV in 75" and replacing a Sony 950G which I love the picture.. but the Sony does not have hdmi 2.1 gaming features.. I have a PS5 and want to finally see 4k 120 and Vrr in my living Room Are you satisfied with the gaming ability of the u8h? And how is the off angle viewing? Does the picture wash out badly? Thanks

Thanks for the video! In Germany, the hisense u8h is only available with integrated soundbar, in the USA the TV is without soundbar. Is that the tv itself? Greetings from Germany ✌️

From what I understand, the model numbers might be the same, but they are entirely a different tv. Different panels and options.

I can't figure out how to keep HDR on. I have all my settings set to HDR, I turned off Dolby Vision, all HDR boxes are checked. I calibrated HDR settings, and with the game zone overlay it says it's on, but as soon as I finish the calibration, which I do exactly what the Xbox says, it goes back to HDR off. Why is that? It's only with Xbox Series X, with PS5, everything is fine, was very easy to set up, no problems. Xbox settings have been a horror show setting up. I do not understand. It used to be on, but I had to reset my Xbox and now I cannot get it to turn back on. And of course I have it plugged into into 4k 120 2.1. You have any idea how to turn HDR on so that it stays on. I know it's possible because I had it on before, but it will not work now. On Game Info it says: FPS 120hz, HDR No, VRR VRR, ALLM On. HDR will not stay on. One thing of note, I did just install the latest update today 12-1-22. And things are different. For example, when you go to color temp, I do not have those settings, I have "warm1, 2, standard, and cool, no medium. Very frustrated. Maybe I will return it and just buy a better TV.

You will have HDR back when you play a game that supports HDR, on PS5 HDR is always on as an option, just play a game with HDR and you'll see it.

The place I bought it from offered me $400 back to keep it because I got a couple dozen people waiting for my review before buying. I was losing my mind cuz PS5 is simple, Xbox is like finding the Holy grail with all their confusing options. On home screen for XBOX it shows 2160 @120hz, yet ps5 shows same but at 60hz, I assume that's in game too? I understand the tv has an FPS overlay using a feature in currently unaware of. You sir, may have saved Hisense from losing 10s of thousands in sales. I will subscribe to your channel as a thank you.

@@bizbarley74 Im glad it worked out for you, I find it very easy on the xbox too, you can select the options you want in the display settings of the console, once you play a game with HDR then you can adjust the picture settings on the TV.

Hello I have the problem that my a85h looks very pale on the Xbox. have everything in gaming mode. hdmi extended. even tested pc rgb. then it got a little stronger. Starfield on PC is colorful and crisp. everything on the tv looks so pale and milky. my old LG oled didn't have the problem. the ps5 looks much better.

Qn90b I've had both returned the hisense . The banding in 4k120 was horrible. Plus it halves the vertical resolution at 4k120.

Both are good options, I haven't had any issues with the Hisense and picture looks fantastic, I think Samsung is the best for gaming but it is much more expensive.

I had this exact issue while using Nvidia Shield Pro using Geforce Now. Here's how to fix it if you're using the Nvidia Shield. The fix is by going into settings than A.I. upscaling > turn on "Apply upscaling while streaming" > go to Detail enhancement click on Medium (default). Just FYI you can choose High, but it will give you jitter. Try it out tho. > Than scroll up a bit & make sure AI- Enhanced is click on. You're now good to go. No more blurriness..

So far I’m happy with what I got but man they aren’t $699 anymore it seems. I got mine today, ordered off Amazon for $899, and that’s a sale price. Played ps5, Elden Ring @4K60 and God of war @4K60-120 look great..and Spotify music sounds great too. Also this is after not being a TV owner for the last 5 years so I’m just happy I got my 55” at at great price and so far I feel like I got myself a very good quality product.

@@libertyprime2852 Yes it does support 4k at 120hz, just make sure you use the HDMI 2.1, and activate the enhanced HDMI on the settings of the TV.

It appears 4k 120hz is working perfectly fine on this 65" by the looks of this video. The 55" which I have gets blurry as soon as you switch to 120hz in the xboxsx menu. Could this be true for 65" u8h? or is Joelster using a camera enhancer to capture this video?

Both have fantastic picture but the U8H is much brighter and HDR looks better.

@@TheChris91173 I had the A80J and I loved it, both TVs have great picture quality but if I compare them you'll notice how much brighter the U8H is and it works great with HDR content especially in dark scenes.

Is the vertical or horizontal Banding still pretty bad though because there’s a lot of complaints about that, posterization, and even color banding……. Almost every Television I’ve had gets Vertical Banding bars but for whatever reason Our Hisense U7G has horizontal banding instead of Vertical like on Our Tcl and based on comments apparently the U8H has bad banding but it’s horizontal instead of vertical which is weird that Hisense is the only television which has horizontal banding while almost every other 4k Hdr Television set had vertical

Are you using the proper hdmi ports? Did you enhanced the ports as well? i shared my settings in this video.

@@JoelsterG4k yes sir. KZfaq and every app looks amazing but the Xbox just doesn't work well. I know it's in the Xbox setting and not the TV. The home screen of the Xbox is perfect. Going into any game it gets dull and darker
