As a performance mechanic I know the feeling of building something from the ground up, those long nights at the shop, kicking back drinking some brews with your buddies throwing steaks on the grill while building a few race cars, then hearing it fire up for the first time and watching it go down the street huffing a 300 shot of nitrous nothing compares. Yea you can go buy a 700hp hellcat but the feeling of gapping a hellcat in your backyard/shop built shit box is waaaaaay more fun lol

He would buy junk yard Tesla’s and build good ones out of used parts without any help from Tesla. I mean nothing. Not a seatbelt, a logo, a sun viser. Nothing. And that is BS if u ask me. #teslaV8

I'm a poor guy so I don't get to do to many projects. But I build a few on my channel. I put a 2016 LS motor 6 speed auto and all digital gauges in a 57 Bel-Air. I'm building a 70 gmc 4x4 with well over 400 horsepower out of the original 6 cylinder it came with in 1970. The. Project I'd love to do is build a truck with an old engine, something that most people think is a antique and doesn't have a place in today's market. Let's say a ford 300 straight 6. And compete with any new gas engine on the market today, with power, speed, fuel economy, reliability, ease to work on. And show that an old 300 could beat most factory motors on the market today to ask the question are all the advancements we have made really advancements? Maybe I could get a little of that KZfaq money one day to have some real fun with projects

This guy made an excellent point that I’ve been debating with EV freaks for years now. When these things break down, especially Teslas, your only option is to get it serviced at a dealership. Not only is that going to be really expensive, but the tow bill is going to be ridiculous considering Tesla dealerships are few and far between. In a rural area where I live, the closest Tesla dealerships are 3 hours away. And what if the power grid goes down and you don’t have solar? You won’t be going very far. Don’t get me wrong, EVs and Teslas are fun to drive and great for saving money on gas, but I’ll be damned if I didn’t keep a petrol car too just in case. There’s nothing like the acceleration of a Tesla, but also nothing compares to the roar of a fine tuned muscle car. Also a note to Ford: I had no problem in creating an electric Mustang, like something that could compete with Tesla with the same look as a traditional muscle car, but there was no excuse to turn it into an SUV. They could have made any other SUV electric and I’d be ok with it, but instead they desecrated the Mustang with a family car pile of 💩

I think it's a drive for competence in a given area. Knowing how an engine works, how to maintain it, how to tear it down, all vital-- and fast becoming a lost art. Now people don't know how to do any maintenance at all and rely on software updates. What can be given can be taken away too.
