I saw Chris Farley a few weeks before he died. He came into the store I worked at in Chicago. He was nice, and customers lined up asking him for his autograph. As he smiled, shook hands and signed things, he was breathing heavy, he was constantly wiping sweat off his face. His suit was wrinkled. It was strange. Then, a few weeks later the news announced he'd died from a drug overdose.

I know all about that sweating. It’s like the devil is knocking at your door, you’re miserable and you just want to answer so you get relief again. I hope he’s at peace. We’ve all got demons, he was just tired of fighting his 💔

I'm about the same age as you, my first time seeing the Chippendale sketch was after he died and NBC aired the 'Best of Chris Farley' special, and it made me laugh so hard...then to find out that was one of his earliest sketches that he did on SNL, at the time he was a total unknown, not a household name by any means, but he destroyed in the Swayze sketch, one of the most iconic things ever on SNL and he was a brand new performer when it happened

it aint heartbreaking. We all make our own decisions. He wasn't out there curing cancer or saving the world. He acted in some comedy films, most shit, a couple were decent. He didn't care about his health, he didn't care about making the world a better place, he just wanted to eat and get wasted. I have never met Chris Farley in person, but I have been listening to many documentaries throughout the years.....I see a loving man with a big heart, but lonely. I am in tears still to this day...he was surrounded by so many people...why didn't they take the time to talk with him about his inner feelings, possible depression, his sadness. A person can appear fine on the outside, but sometimes, nobody knows what they are experiencing emotionally and spiritually.

@JDobrozsi16 ай бұрын
@@paddymcp90that is exactly what it means. I never abused drugs but any kind of addiction is rooted in the idea that you don't feel worthy and hate yourself. Healthy people who love themselves don't destroy their lives with drugs or food or even pornography they feel accepted and even if not worthy they aren't destructive like people who are addicted to drugs. Under all that laughter and smiling was a hurting man in Chris who didn't know how to let go of it. I’m sure that this is probably one of the moments in his life that he wishes he could take back and do different to have been able to potentially had a chance to save Chris Farley‘s life

I saw Norm McDonald live in Vancouver years ago, and Chris' brothers opened for him. It was a really great show. Fucking awesome actually looking back on it.

The scene in Tommy Boy, when he’s at the gas station getting hosed down by Rob Lowe, dancing and singing “I’m a maniac”, was filmed at the corner of Main & Davis in Newmarket, and my friends and I used to live in a house right down the street from there before it was torn down, and we used to get drunk and go re-enact that scene there literally just to honour Chris Farley in a way that we absolutely nobody else ever could haha 😊 Friggin imagine if he was still around making movies today. The movie Grown Ups actually would have been funny lol.

Its so sad and frustrating that no one could get through to Chris and help him shake whatever demons haunted him to drive him to such dark levels.

Same thing with Artie Lange. You need to want to get clean. No one can force you or convince you until you want it. I had a serious drug problem and got clean in 1994 and never looked back , however I have several friends, well drug friends that are all gone today because they just did not want help. I literally can name a dozen ppl who I was really close to while doing drugs that are gone now. It's really sad as some of them I saw such talent and potential that if they got clean , who knows how successful they could have been today

2dogsacat andme I can totally relate to what you just said I have drug friends myself and sometimes I wonder if they are truly my friends are just use me to get their fix being a addict is tough and I still struggle with addiction myself I know one day it's going to lead to death or jail and I pray me and my "drug friends" get clean before the inevitable happens
@willtheangrydudeist91205 жыл бұрын
@@brianstone3722 If you have to wonder if they're your friends, then they aren't. It's a hard part of life, but losing people is something we have to deal with. Sometimes we have to move on from people. It's hard, but we all have to make our own path and if you want to get clean, you will have to focus on yourself and leave your friends unfortunately. Good luck to you...

It’s more sad that the hooker he was partying with left him on the floor to die and stole his watch and just left. At least call 911 then leave out the back door but call for help. The cunt will rot in hell.
