That's actually really cool. The neat thing is seeing the gear that the warehouses use for their logistic purposes. At my previous job, we considered using what Joey was using for a specific section of the plant specifically because it gives you a lot of flexibility to quickly scanning items, and handle said items immediately. In other sections of our plant, we had requirements such as long distance scanning for items that were stacked high or out of reach, specific extreme operational temperatures (like it works while you're in a freezer storage or in an ironwork), and having industrial grade rating durability. (Being able to survive a fall from 6ft.) Their scanner in question doesn't need anything like that, and its a lot easier to handle than having to carry or holster around a larger scanner like the Cipher Lab 9700 or Keyence BT-A700. Also neat to see that they're using new gear with Android vs some of the plants I've seen using scanners that still run on Windows CE.

I've done order picking at a produce warehouse before, so this was pretty interesting to see; the part (aside from what was possibly looked at in regards to cultured materials LOL) that interested me the most was at the end of the main video though... my main job is as a labourer in the film industry so we often have to use those "elevators" (technically usually called scissor lifts) but I didn't expect to see Joey riding in one here although he's right in that they are dangerous enough to need a helmet and harness less so for the up and down motion and more for the driving around bits because they're REALLY touchy to the point at which one small motion on the control stick can make the whole machine do a big jerking movement that could potentially throw you out of the machine if you're not strapped in.

This is just giving me flashbacks to when I worked in retail. Managing what was stored in tbe backroom was an art that if someone fucked with it, it really pissed me off lol. Doing with pen and paper would have been super annoying, but doable. I bet what they probably did was keep track of everything taken out and added by having a paper form of some kind on each shelf, but yeah.. remembering where something was put was probably how you knew the general are of something. The store I worked in used to be pretty old school so we kinda had something similar but we eventually got a computer system to track everything. But if someone didn't input it correctly, it screwed it up. Our system didn't look as nice, but it worked.
