Brighton, CO to Mesa, AZ is still a 13 hour drive. Still not close enough to have regular practice sessions. But I agree they should train together-John has a completely different philosophy when it comes to armwrestling training (than Devon) and it’d be good for Brian to get as many perspectives as he can before he really commits to this journey.

I been saying this. Let shaw go to john house for a couple weeks and just learn how to pull.
@MJIZZEL

@stairfall12345678900 I think getting many different perspectives can mess up a new armwrestler too however. I think that's what happen to Larry wheels. John would be perfect for shaw to learn with over multiple days and bog guys like Corey west train there with John too. Devon is way to technical for a new guy.
@michaellopez2070
@michaellopez2070 Ай бұрын
@@MJIZZEL Larry Wheels isn't messed up. He just didn't know his lane yet because you can't know your lane unless you have enough table time, like John says. Also, it's a lie that Larry inherently had the genetics to be a world beater. The reason none of the top guys that collabed with him would say that is that they all benefited from him bringing exposure to the sport and their youtube channels, so they had a conflict of interest. Guys like Rob Vigeant and Travis Bagent had more honest/impartial assessments of him and didn't hype him up so much.

Yes he should be careful and not go in against top pros right away. No, I don’t want an Eddie Hall or Hafthor exhibition. Brian will crush them so easily and I want to see him building up against real arm wrestlers. Doesn’t have to be top guys. It can be KZfaq guys like Juji or something like that. He needs to feel actual technique.

Brian needs table practice above all other things. The problem is, he can't just join a local club because people will not be strong enough to challenge him (except with speed, but this will lead to unnecessary strains and pains). In all of north america, there's maybe 25 pullers at most that can deal with brians strength in a slow pull and just hold him to teach certain angles and movements

not going to take a long time in the armwrestling world is a much different thing than internet viewers think. Not taking a long time is 3-5 years much longer than the attention span of those that have never pulled.

@Sandor-jr6cv Your statements show you have zero clue about the sport, it isn't his strength holding him back it is his tendons, There is nothing in strongman, weightlifting or any other sport that puts strain on the tendon under a maximum concentric load. This is why people transitioning over to arm-wrestling often get hurt if they have a strength background. Brian is at particular risk as his strength is much higher than his tendons can take and the people he is arm-wrestling have immense strength as well. The load on his tendons in a SHW match is immense and he literally has zero conditioning.
@Tasmanaut
@Tasmanaut Ай бұрын
@@Average1212 you are speaking nonsense. There are many events in WSM that put strain on the the tendons, you have no idea what you are talking about. Probably have never lifted a weight in your life.
@Average1212
@Average1212 Ай бұрын
@@Tasmanaut Find me one exercise that loads the tendon the same way arm-wrestling does. In which motion do you load the tendon with a muscle locked in a concentric phase? It is well known that none of the strength sports prepare you for the loads armwrestling puts on the tendons. Show me one motion that puts side pressure load in WSM. This isn't speculation this is known and is exactly what devon told brian. His tendon's will not hold his strength level in arm-wrestling as they are now.

Why? We have seen that denis is an ego puller, all he would do is stonewall brian till he hurt himself. What Denis does on the practice table is not how new pullers are trained. Yes it makes him look good in video's but is pointless for training.

Brian doesn’t need to train with anyone. Everyone saying he should compete with so and so. Brian just need to train on his own and compete very frequently against all sorts of pullers, not just kingsmovers like Devon Larratt.
@cloud890
@cloud890 Ай бұрын
False. With no trainer he'll pick up bad habits and it will take him way longer to pick up good techniques. In every single clip I've seen of Devon training him, Devon makes it clear that he doesn't want to tell Bryan what to do. He wants to see what Bryan's natural strengths are and then enhance them. Bryan trying to do this alone, especially at this stage in his life, is beyond stupid.
@shadathulahmed2277
@shadathulahmed2277 Ай бұрын
@@cloud890 That’s where you’re wrong. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to piece together how to armwrestle. This can be done simply by competing against other armwrestlers, and Brian figuring out what works best for him when he is put up against different styles of pullers. Not Devon nor any other “perfect coach” can tell Brian how to use his strength and frame, simply because there is none other like him.
@bbailey7740

MMA fighters shouldn’t train with people. Football teams don’t need coaches. See how silly that sounds?
@shadathulahmed2277
@shadathulahmed2277 Ай бұрын
@@bbailey7740 comparing armwrestling to more sophisticated sports such as football and mma sounds just as silly. Agreed, Brian would need a coach to teach him the basic techniques and training methods, but even the most elite armwrestlers out there, follow the same basic, monotonous yet effective training. As well as competing there’s really not much more to armwrestling than that. Devon taught Brian all there is to know about armwrestling in less than a day, which proves my point of Brian not needing to have a “coach”.
