you might on the yoke adjustment either get a new yoke.. looks like its a standard yoke.. or if you only need 1/8".. run a die down the stud and make 3 more turns of thread.. any more than that you will run the end of the stud into the Eye on the other side. . that is kinda an important part.. might be worth finding a new one or ordering a JD version.. if its not $500.00. thanks for the complete adjustment procedure ..

I wonder if anyone can help me. While attempting to remove the final drive/steering clutch assemble from the tractor, i forgot to release the brake adjustment under the seat of the tractor. While pulling the assembly off the tractor, the brake band has bound around the brake drum and at the brake adjustment bolt, the shaft that adjustment bolt sits on has moved outboard and slipped off th surface it sits on and dropped down about 3/16". this has caused the adjustment bolt to move outwards and is now under the tractor housing, heavy cast main transmission. I am now unable to get a socket on the adjustment bolt, nor am i amble to get the shaft that bolt rides on back up into its proper position. I am stumped and not sure what to do. Possibly the adjustment bolt is seized as well. any ideas to help woudl be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hello T.M.M. .... My father-in-law has the same JD350B (not sure of power steering though) which seems only the left track is under power. The right doesn't appear to drive the unit anymore. So, I'll be driving 3hrs to his home this weekend to inspect it, and wanted to know if it could possibly be just the linkage out of adjustment, or is it more likely more serious? (I know I know... Randomness dumb question, with very little backstory or data... Lol) When you go forward, it mainly wants to drift right, and will not go to the left at all anymore. Thoughts? Thanks much!
@themadmailler4 жыл бұрын
if there is no free play in the clutch, the clutch may be held open/slip. Odd problem, as they usually stick and seize rather than slip. If the adjustment checks out, time to take it apart! It's also possible a shaft or some splines are sheared, but i find that hard to believe because they're pretty heavy duty.

@themadmailler3 жыл бұрын
if your machine has a reverser, there is no main clutch. your "clutch pedal" is actually an incher pedal that controls the hydraulic clutches in the reverser. you may just be low on oil, or the drive coupling between the reverser and tranny may be stripped.

What kind of fluid goes in the steering clutch reservoir ? Is it hydraulic fluid? I had one side that wasn't stopping the track I filed it with hydraulic fluid now both sides no longer work.
@themadmailler5 жыл бұрын
it takes tractor hyd fluid that meets JD spec 303 or hyguard. even if your power steering is empty, you will still be able to steer manually. if you can't steer at all, either your clutches/brakes are shot or out of adjustment.
@matthewpoteet88765 жыл бұрын
I could only stop the tracks on the left side. I found the fill plug for the right side and added almost ten gallons of heavy duty transmission/hydraulic fluid(the good stuff) 50 bucks a bucket. As a added i kept checking to see it the right side would begin to brake the track. Not only did it not start working after I filled the right side to the top, the left side stopped working. Only thing I know to do a this point is drain some out.
@themadmailler5 жыл бұрын
are you talking about the power steering reservoir or the steering clutch housing? if you have a straight 350 or 350B, you have a DRY CLUTCH that should never see oil! if you filled the clutch housing with oil, your best bet is to drain them dry and wash them out several times with gasoline. if you're lucky it will remove enough oil to allow your clutches and brakes to grab. While you have the top cover off, you might as well adjust the brakes and clutches too. I've also heard that Ajax powder and powdered rosin will help slippery clutches and brakes grab again, but that is not a correct fix.

Run it up against a tree with the clutches pulled back a bit to disengage them. Also helps to soak in diesel, but make sure to wash it in gas afterwards to prevent slipping.
