Күн бұрын2004 John Deere LX277 mower deck with hundreds of hours of operation needs some TLC. Rough bearing in double pulley. Worn out tensioner spring clevis welded and improved. Idler pulley bearings repacked.

What is the shaft that had the nylon bushing that you turned around to raise the wheel called? That is the problem with my 54C. The shaft leans the wheel down which makes the spring just rub on the drive belt during operation which eventually shreds the mower drive belt (not the deck belt). I need to change that shaft. Thanks for any information or name or parts numbers you can provide!

There’s 2 nylon bushings that are very cheap to replace….It will make the pulley sit more upright with less lean. Easy fix.

Can you make a video of just the correct way to hook up the 2 belt tension rod SPRINGS! And how to attach the "arm", part #9 in the parts diagram. That "arm" broke 3 times on my GX335 48" deck. Bought the machine new in 2004. Last time after just 1 month it broke. Original lasted 14 years, 1st replacement lasted 4 years, 3rd replacement --- I month.

Is it the early JD 48" deck with the fixed guide wheels or the later with wheels that will swivel?

@@zeketheantiquefreak8518 it's the earlier model with the fixed bogie wheels, guide wheels. (I wish it had the swivel wheels). That would make it easier to drag it out from under the tractor.

@@carolwilliams7680 I have that model 48c in the shed from my 2004 LX277. I will have a look and see if I understand which arm is breaking on you. Fortunately mine has had little trouble with maybe 500 hours of grass cutting. 1,100+ hours total. Do you still have your owners manual?

@@carolwilliams7680 I am assuming the arm that breaks is the one on the back end of that tensioner spring that starts near the front of the deck at the center guide wheel?

The pulley you show at 2:40 mark uses a 6303 bearing 17x40x12 mm I cut the side out with a lathe and pounded in a new one and tacked a washer on top. Does anyone have a link to the parts breakdown on this deck? Seem hard to find more then blades belts and spindles for it. Mine has the leaning tensioner arm problem and i need the bushings

thanks for the bearing number . i had a 6303 on hand , so i drilled out the rivets and spot welds , and the pulley came apart . a few bolts and pop rivets , and i'm back in business .

Which belt, the motor to deck one or the blade hub drive one?

how long is the deck belt for the blade?

The number of the belt will be in the owner's manual, and with an internet search one is able to find the size of the belt. Hope this helps!

@@zeketheantiquefreak8518 it says 48 inch, went and bought it and it look way too big for my deck. Is it supposed to be bigger? There’s still slack even tho I put it on the pulleys

@@aidenshutup2233 If it is the right part number for your application, is there any chance that the belt could be routed wrong? There should be a picture or diagram in the owners manual.
