One thing to keep in mind folks is that based on the increase in speed of the 1167 when setting the manual lugging mode to 4%, shown in the 1167 protilling video, I would think the 1167 could do a much better run even than it did. Putting it at 4% vs "Auto" increased the speed by nearly 1 mph, Which is a shock to me since I didn't experience that much difference when using this tractor for deep ripping.

ONCE upon a time, a farmer wanted to have some fun and we all thought it would be a battle between brands. At the end we were really surprised that it turned out to be battle between drive train design: Lean two track design vs. complex four track. What is the message at the end: if two wheel drive will do the job, do not buy a four wheel drive car. 😁

the fentit off the start did hit 11m.p.h,when got going the jd kept a faster speed.bring back good memory's hooking up ass end to ass ends of tractors and pulling.Thanks that was fun.

The Deere with +4000 hours+ slick tracks is only 2'' (Next video) slower than a brand new Fendt. That says it all......

As long as the playing field is identical for every pass, it's more accurate. I bet the 1050 will be the fastest. Tires often are faster then tracks. But it also depends on the surface and how much weight it needs to pull. I wonder if the old Fergie will even pull this protill

A lower horsepower 2 track will always out pull a higher hp 4 track them 2 tracks the power goes from the engine to the rear ends where 4 track the power has to turn directions to many times before it gets to the ground.

What! This is unexpected! Did you do a pm release instead of an am release on accident? Edit: OK I see now, new release every 12 hours till you're caught up. I'm going to exercise some EXTREME discipline and only watch one in the morning like I normally do. That way I can extend my morning routine. Mike, I'll tell you what it's been awesome having a video of yours to watch every morning with my coffee. Mike Mitchell in the morning with coffee and a Farming Fixing and Fabricating video for in the evening with dinner.

Just as an FYI when you start the Fendt 1167 it is .5 sec after the the cone drops until the tractor moves. The 9620RX is at least 4 sec and the 9560RT is 3.5 before the tractor moves.

True, but then you could also play around with the Fendts settings. Mike got nearly one extra mph out of it by just setting the manual lugging mode to 4% in the previous tractorshootout video. In the drag race, he drove it in auto mode. One mph would be nearly 15 seconds.

RPM. Those fendts don’t have enough RPM to pull fast. It doesn’t matter if the fendt has a low torque curve

Mike if you really wanna make that old 9560 embarrass those newer ones take the computer off and have it tuned with an extra 50hp and delete the DPF and egr. I did it to mine and it made it a whole new animal

Same. The Quad 620 shifts quicker than the RX and has a little more jam and no HP loss to CVT (1167). Bet it would win the competition with a 2:30 or less…

@@calebrozeboom Hmph, I didn’t know that. 🤔 That’s odd, and doesn’t sound right in “real world” settings. I’ve got the feeling a 9520R would’ve beaten the 1050 in Mike’s pull-off rather handily.

None of that crap matters in this “drag race” style test. The reason the Deere’s came out on top is because they have more RPM. You can’t pull fast with 1600rpm like the fendts operate at.

Please can you report the fuel flow of the RT and the 1167 because they pull so close it would be interesting to see which is more efficient?

The 9560RT was operating at a bit of a disadvantage. (1) The cleats seemed to be showing more wear than the other tracks/tires. (2) The cleats were filled with more mud than the other tracks/tires.

Ah Mike. speed an efficiency go hand in hand. Acres per hour and gallons per hour gives you gallons per acre. So just speed is only part of the story. I think that you would have had a better result by running in efficiency manager mode in all tractors. Especially in the John Deere's.

That Johnny popper did pretty good for being 1xx hp less then anything else, would really like to know what the 620 jd 2 track has for a comparison against the 1167 fendt

True. Although the Fendt 1162 and 1167 have the same pulling power. The 1167 has 55 additional hp for the PTO and hydraulics. It uses 620hp for the drivetrain. But that’s still a 60hp difference. That 9560RT really is pulling hard.

The reason it's faster then 9620rx is because it's pre Def. A 500 hp pre emission engine pulls like a 600hp emissions engine. Cause the SCR, EGR, DPF and DEF emission system's robs at least 100hp from those engines. I know the 560 has EGR but it's still sort of pre emission. So even though the 9620rx quad has a power bulge that boosts it to 670hp it still only pulls like a 570hp pre emission motor, like the one in the 2 track.

You are basically trying to measure drawbar power. You could easily do this in a more consistent manner by measuring draw bar pull using a hydraulic cylinder with a pressure sensor as a link between the tractor and the implement and multiplying that by the tractor speed. (Power = pull x speed). Would be pretty easy to set up with the ISOBus to automate everything.
