The goal of the Grain Bin Safety campaign is to reduce the occurrence of grain bin accidents by raising awareness of the hazards and by raising funds to equip first responders with the tools and training needed to respond quickly when necessary in the event of a grain bin accident. The funds raised will be used to purchase Grain Bin Rescue kits and training for our first responders.
Donate Today:
www.gofundme.com/f/grain-bin-...
Nominate Your Local First Responders:
Best point of contact at your department? What equipment does your department/responders need? Is there a specific brand of equipment your community uses as a combined effort with other local departments? Any other information you think we might find useful? Please send request to givingback@mnmillennialfarmer.com
Zach and Becky Johnson will assemble a panel of volunteers to review request a distribute donations accordingly.

Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Mike Mitchell did a good summary on hp needs while reviewing their demo Ideal 10 with close to 800hp. Basic summary was barely enough is not good enough. Need enough to handle every situation you may run into with all machine functions operating, going up hill, fully loaded, mud, unloading on the go, etc.
@maxpower9499

Think above 1000hp is exempt from all the EPA rules, seems like they way to go. But maybe the manufacturers don't want to sell something reliable?
@IBAdrianHarris
@IBAdrianHarris 3 жыл бұрын
I was disappointed Mike didn't get the chance to run the X9 this season. Would be good to see a comparo between the Ideal 10 and the X9. The specs seem to indicate the X9 has much greater cleaning capacity, but not horsepower to drive it - would be good to see how they go back to back in real world conditions.
@allannantes8583
@allannantes8583 2 жыл бұрын
@@IBAdrianHarris The Ideal 10 has a lot more thrashing capacity with 16 foot length. JD’s top pan is just a delivery pan more than a cleaning pan. Ideal 10 is ahead in specifications in all other categories. Fendt Ideal 10 should win in field trials if they re-design their MOG chopper/spreader. The general consensus out their by all the subject matter experts is that John Deere copied the Fendt Ideal’s technology when they came out with the X-9 combine. I looked at the comparisons and I would have to agree.

Give him two maybe three years when that puberty growth spurt kicks in. Those are a lot easier to drive when you can reach the pedals and see over the steering wheel at the same time. I remember being maybe a year or two older than onyx , cultivating 4 rows of corn with the popping Johnny H with the tricycle front end. No hood !No fenders! just you , the seat , and the steering wheel to hang on to ! Exciting times at the ends of the field. Both hands on the lever to get the Cultivator out of the ground, disengage the hand clutch jump off the seat and stand on the left brake petal while spinning the front end in a perfect half circle. Haha! Pop the clutch back in while giving it a little more throttle and drop the cultivator back in the ground. Almost as exciting as wrestling and holding the firstborn calves at branding.

When I worked for an IH dealer,one of our customers had a 1440. He wasn't happy that he could t unload on the go. He broke a front axle, and brought it in for repair. The engine is straight off one of the regular tractors. While swapping the axle, one mechanic added a turbo to the engine. The farmer loved it. Eve claimed it was more fuel efficient with the turbo, and the fuel savings would pay for the turbo in less then one season.

@@robertheinkel6225 Oh I remember trying to unload on the go, it was always pulling down just with a four row too, that’s really all it needed was a turbo like the 1460, we traded it for a 1640 and that still did not have a turbo but it had the 466 engine and that made a big difference!! They were good old machines to be honest we went with JD in 96 and went back to Case IH last with a 7250 with a MacDon draper and the folding 12 row head !! Very pleased with it does a beautiful job 👍

Looks like the X9 does a great job overall but for a flagship model, it’s still down 100HP on the Claas 8900 and the Ideal 10. Throw in a Case 8350 and it would be interesting to see all of them go head to head in the same crop. Not just in acres cut but sample, losses and efficiency. I can dream can’t I...?

Your reviews are the best out there. You don't try to hide your biases, you just say "this is what I'm used to, so I do/do not like X feature." The world needs more honesty in general, and a lot more on camera! Good job by you!

Yeah same here cause ours is different all we have to do is take a bucket out it underneath the crop that's coming out of the semi the go in the tiny house is what we call it then dump it in a like container on top of the sampler machine Tap test crop on the touchscreen on it then it opens the crop goes inside then it levels it automatically inside the machine then it test the crop then you write everything down then it dumps the seed or crop into a tray and then after 5 sample's you have to go dump it in the grain pit where the semis dump so yeah

Always something like a flat tire or a bin to clean at the most inopportune tine. You folks are really hustling this time of year. I think Didge was just playing dead to lure another squirrel out of the trees. She's okay! Great review of the new equipment. The wide corn-head and bigger combine seems to be giving the crew a run for the money. The crop looks good and everything seems to be going well. I'm learning a lot from these videos; all the intricacies of harvest and equipment. Best of luck with the final harvest. The golden beauty of the dry corn in the autumn light is so fantastic. God's country for sure! @23:23 Rooouf to Didge and Anna, roof to everyone else. @23:40 Hello Onyx and what a nice sunset. @23:43 Zach - "Man, look at that!" Onyx - "Are you sure that's not MARS." Ha. You guys crack me up. @23:53 Line change during stoppage of play. Fresh legs on the ice, so to speak. Are you out checking the grain drier at one AM? @0:53 that bright planet between the bins must be Mars. @0:59 Climb the wet bin and get a shot of the night sky and the various planets and moon while checking the grain levels. Worth a look with the new camera anyway. If you're up there before dawn, look to the east to catch Venus and the Moon in the coming glow of twilight as Mars sets in the west. Love the sunset and sunrise images from MN. They're pretty bright before the sun sinks into the low ground fog. Maybe try to shoot the orange twilight of the post-sunset dusk with both Jupiter and Saturn just above the sunset point in the west, or the pre-dawn with Venus and the Moon just above the sunrise point in the east. DAWN (Morning) SKY OCTOBER 12th & 13th Look for a crescent Moon just above Venus as they rise 1 hour before dawn. Catch them just as the orange glow of twilight begins to fill in the east. MARS at opposition on the 13th of October. It rises at dusk in the east, traverses the sky all night long and sets in the west just before dawn. It will not be this close or big again until September 2035. MARS is usually very faint and hard to see, so enjoy it now at it's best. OCTOBER 14th Look for the crescent Moon just below Venus as they rise 1 hour before dawn. Very thin Moon, so may be hard to spot once the sky begins to brighten. DUSK (Evening) SKY New Moon on October 16th then back to Jupiter and Saturn, in the evening sky, on October 21st & 22nd ( earthsky.org/?p=339225 ) To Mars on October 28th and 29th ( earthsky.org/?p=339145 )then back to Full Moon on October 31st (Hunter's Moon & Blue Moon & Great Pumpkin Halloween Moon!) skyandtelescope.org/observing/astronomy-podcasts/october-2020-mars-is-the-star/

Good for you ! I am 68 years old , but remember my time in the grain truck in Alberta Canada as a youngster about the same age and driving truck to collect the harvested grain ! Your son clearly has the same core ideals of responsibility I had! He is going to do well in life! I went on to an engineering career and worked on 5 continents and lived on three Of them and retired as a a ceo
