The story of John Frusciante, told through a collection of video filmed during his time with the Red Hot Chili Peppers from 1989 to 1993, & again from 1999 to 2008, & the especially dark periods of his life between those years.

Hey everyone. I’m Troy’s (Everyday Struggles) sister. I just wanted to let everyone know that he passed away last month. A couple weeks before he passed he got to see John and the rest of RHCP live. yupp people tend to forget that Flea and his funky bass playing is a big part of how they got on the road to success. Yes John propelled them to the next level but put a mediocre bass player in there and it wouldnt be the same. at the end of the day i get those bass rhythms stuck in my head just as much as any other part of their sound. if not more.

@@FreakinRican6969 Every single RHCP fan should care. The best music came about when John was in the band, and THAT is why they are still playing today. John, Flea, and Chad are one of the best trios in music. I'm thankful to have been around since John's joining the band and old enough to remember it as they were hitting it big. I've seen them in concert many times and the best were with John. Josh K. can play well but his backing vocals and improvisation while playing live just does not compare to how great John was while in RHCP. No worries, I still bought the 2 CDs that they released with Klinger and do enjoy some of the songs. When they come near where I live, I still go see them because I'm still a fan of the RHCP. Peace.

Frusciante's story really reminds me of like... a sort of fallen superhero type of a story. Really soaring and falling so far deep - beyond self darkness to a deep deep depth far down - And then rebounding and soaring back to the light - coming back and beating himself in the depths of his darkness and coming out so strong and vibrant. Really wished he would of stayed with the RHCP - but I guess sometimes you gotta take a different step in a new direction to explore yourself. I guess his story tells us that you can beat all odds and take matters into your own hands and move yourself forth no matter what you've been through. FRUSCIANTE FOR LIFE!!

People with an ego would care that footage of themselves in poor health was circulating on the internet. People with no ego (and sufficient money) do not. As a recovered drug addict, i myself went through a hard time with therapy and depression, but now i just did my first lecture to a group of patients. Right now he just got out of jail from possession of LSD, Xanax and Percocet and is in a halfway house in a different state (because he got arrested in a different state)! He now has a felony and no one will rent an apartment to him without being out of jail at the very least a year! It's very sad and it breaks my heart! I attend ALANON meetings to help me cope and knowing I am not the only parent out there going through this! I pray he doesn't relapse! Stay Strong and it's such a good deed speaking to others who are suffering or has suffered as well!

@@MienemLeben I have been clean for almost 4 years now, and i take one day at a time. Try to be happy with the small things. Everything i do is done because i choose to. Like everything in the past. My advice to every parent is: dont judge too hard. Addiction is an illness, your child is a victim. Try to stay on the good side of him. I know he will make mistakes for sure, and there will be fights. But if you keep talking you can create an open vibe in which both can make mistakes and in which both give and recieve compliments. If you just forbid everything and judge it there is no room for learning and learning means error. Good luck to everyone.

If it's any consolation to John, this has far more impact than words ever could in cautioning against heroin use. It reduced a musical giant to rubble, a brilliant mind into a bumbling, scab covered lunatic. And this is someone who could afford a heroin habit, so at his worse he was better off than the average junkie. Don't do heroin, kids. Thankfully he survived the ordeal.

John Frusciante is nothing but a very talented being who doesn't even recognise his own mark in the world & from someone who had contributed in making one of the biggest bands aka RHCP, he is very humble about his presence in the whole set up. As it was mentioned by Keidis he operates in his own little world, he doesn't drive, he doesn't own a credit card, he's not hung up on money, he just lives for the music. That's very rare these days through any known talent & I envy that over anything, I salute you John. I'm so thrilled you came out the otherside of addiction & please never disappear, carry on the good work as the legend you are ....... 👌👏

I miss John in RHCP. 😢💔 I know Josh is a great friend of his... but, John is part of the heart of RHCP. Not just guitar, his & Anthony’s vocals/harmonies are impeccable. Maybe again, someday... seeing him strung out. Fuck. Tears. Thank God he didn’t die...

I always struggle to watch the footage of John from that, I think it was a French made film, showing him in the bottom of addiction. It's the most vivid documentation of someone's darkest period I've ever seen and it's painful to see. But to be fair, he came out of rehab like a Phoenix on fire. It was amazing.

I’ve always loved the percussion stomp from Breaking The Girl. So cool - well produced, Mr Rubin. 😎

9:06 John played that song live at the 'Big Day Out' Festival in 2000 causing the crowd to rush the stage. The show had to be stopped for quite a while, while Anthony pleaded with the crowd to settle down. John refused to play until the crowd did so.

Wrong, they didn't rush the stage. That's New Zealand they crush and push each other in the crowd, it happens in every bit event.

The connection of true friendship between FLEA and JOHN was unbreakable even John left from the band but, their hearts doesn't left each other that's the reason John was coming again this is the most happiest and heart warming days of RHCP fans ❤️❤️❤️😀❤️😀❤️

I remember Anthony on his knees at Fuji Rock 2006 singing "please don't you ever leave..", but John - who lives here and now I guess and who can't just postpone his artistic flow for a couple of years until Flea eventually returned to the band (as a proud and happy father) could not NOT leave. RHCP with or without John feels like life with or without water. John without Flea, the rest of the band, feels like .... maybe like someone who left home and never looked back. I appreciate what Flea said at the end. Thank you for the music, guys

John is one of the great guitar players. Without him RHCP would have remained a club act. When he left they fell into a rut and were on their way to disbanding, when he came back he inspired them to new heights. His story is amazing and I'm just glad he is still around.
