Agreed, I lost interest with all the "hustle porn" stuff. I'm not ultra wealthy, but I'm an attorney and my family lives fairly comfortably. I go to the "powercast" to get insight into training, etc. When I want to learn more about earning more money and investing I'll listen to the likes of Steve Eisman and Warren Buffett. If Buffett and Eisman started talking about powerlifting I'd get really frustrated. Their channel, but in my opinion this is the way to go.

I love that Haack is just a super friendly, really simple dude. To me he kind of fills that void that Jesse Norris left except that he seems to have an even friendly disposition towards life. Kind of like Norris his training philosophy is just... Train. He doesn't do a bunch of fancy shit, he's just a blessed lifter, keeps it simple, and just gets fucking after it. Everyone is looking for that cheat code but, sorry, that cheat code was built into you when you were born. If you want to be the best lifter you can be you just get in there, put in the work, listen to your body, and push yourself when it's appropriate.

I think at a bare minimum you need 2 years solid natural training once you have stopped growing and be in mid 20s before you touch PEDs. For one thing, after 2 years of consistent training naturally you might be happy with where you're at and not feel the need for PEDs. At least after 2 years of consistent training in your 20s you'll have a decent idea of your natural limits. The PEDs will be all the more sweet if you go that route.

Does Mark have a video covering weight lifting accessories like wrist wraps, knee and elbow sleeves, belts, etc.? I’d love to hear what he recommends in general and maybe some ideas if you have certain injuries or weak areas. For example, I have carpal tunnel in both wrists and I’m trying to figure out the best way to support my wrists during heavy lifts.
@xinsanedefeatx
@xinsanedefeatx 2 жыл бұрын
The big question is why do you have carpal tunnel? I've never heard of someone getting it from lifting. I'll assume you got it some other way in which case I suppose you could use equipment to help alleviate the pain, but it'd be smarter to find other exercises or variations to perform that don't exacerbate the issue until you can fix it. Otherwise every time you workout you'll just be lengthening the total amount of time it'll take you to fix the carpal tunnel itself. Good luck regardless, it can be debilitatingly painful

It’s a work related condition from my previous life as an industrial sandblaster/painter. I have done all manner of braces, stretches, ergonomic improvements, shots, and surgery. @@trevorallen5988 hey dude seems like you know a thing or two about carpal tunnel. i got it, mainly on my right wrist, since i jumped on gear (just test). everytime i wake up my hand is sleeping for half an hour or something. not the end of the world, but pretty annoying tbh. i was wondering, if you possibly know an explanation for it, why i'm getting it when i'm on steroids. (or more specifically testosterone) it's kinda weird, right? seems like i'm the only one with this problem.

@@mrloqqe1610 yeah that does make much sense to me. I know GH can cause CTS at higher doses but never heard of test. If you want to try using a brace while sleeping I recommend the Futuro. Also look up the standard stretches for CTS, those help me the best above everything else.

Notice to all you bodybuilders who think you need powerlifiting movements to grow: John is the strongest person in the world at his weight class at those lifts. Yet there are 10 guys at every commercial gym in America who look bigger than him at a similar bodyweight who lift a fraction of the weight. If you are a bodybuilder you don't need to do the big 3 with low reps to grow. In fact the risk/reward is probably not worth it. Congrats to John on his success, he certainly is fun to watch.
@jaghall47
@jaghall47 2 жыл бұрын
Eh strength and size are heavily correlated not necessarily caused. John if you compare him to the average dude would look huge so saying that the big 3 don't build muscle is a lil silly. If you look at body builders lifting they usually are lifting pretty heavy. I remember Kai green incline benching 495lbs for 5 once and he's considered one of the more "mind muscle connection/squeeze the muscle" type of bodybuilders. Bodybuilders are strong and if they dedicated their time to the big 3 they would be beasts.
@DAatDA

@jaghall47
@jaghall47 2 жыл бұрын
Sure you don't NEED them however they are the most efficient in terms of progressive overload which is the what drives hypertrophy. You could in theory progressively overload your chest fly but does in make nearly as much sense as just getting your bench or even your dumbell bench up? No it doesn't. Bodybuilders are strong period. Full stop.
@DAatDA
@DAatDA 2 жыл бұрын
@@jaghall47 lol @ full stop. Bodybuilders aren't as strong as John, and watch them train. Many dont use the "big 3". My point still stands, use the exercises that maximize hypertrophy and minimize injury risk. You don't ever need to deadlift or low bar squat for great legs and you certainly don't need to bench for a great chest.
@jaghall47
@jaghall47 2 жыл бұрын
@@DAatDA they're not strong at the big 3 because they don't practice the big 3. Once again bodybuilders like Dorian Yates incline benched 405 for REPS imagine if he practiced flat Bench how strong he would be.
