This is gold between two lads who would go on to be all-time greats. Lovely to hear Mike Watterson in commentary - the man who took the World Championship to the Crucible Theatre in 1977 and also founded the UK Championship and World Team Cup. An outstanding player in his own right as well.

Even the commentary is good aside from the occasional mix up of names, pertinent remarks unlike that irritating cretin Phil Yates. I wouldn't describe Mike Watterson as outstanding as a player but he was a competent pro, an entrepreneur and did a tremendous amount for the good of the game. I did once see him beat Alex Higgins 5-2 in a minor tournament.

He looks like a child, and at that age people are drinking and whatnot, quite a lot even have babies... they feel like they're grown up, I certainly did, and Mark certainly plays like it. Still, it is absolultely amazing to see, all through the match I could not get used to it. And taking the loss so ell, too! What an impressive human being. And playing so brilliantly, but still, by now he' only three times World Champion to John's four.

@@rogerlane7503 why ? You do realize he didn't actually cheat,only talked about it BIG DIFFERENCE, He said he just went along with it to get out of an awkward situation and even if that was a lie and he was SERIOUSLY considering cheating, well it DOESN'T MATTER as he didn't actually throw any games. It's not cheating to think about doing it then changing your mind. I personally believe him as he has won everything in the game including millions of pounds ,so why risk it all for a few extra pounds ? But even if I'm wrong and he was serious about it,well that doesn't change the fact that he never actually threw any matches,there was no unusual betting patterns ( like with Steven Lee) so why should he be banned. If they ban you for thinking about it then 95% of the population would be in jail, cause we have all said the words " I'll kill you " but for most of us it's just words,we don't actually kill people. This is the same thing, he said some words, big deal,he never went through with it and that's what matters
@davidmellish32952 жыл бұрын
@PeckyThePigeon if it's just chat then no,if you start planning it and details exchanged, money changes hands etc then it's a crime. If it's just talk saying, " yeah I'm going to kill him " then NOTHING ELSE happens then it's just talk. Haven't you said " ill kill you " at some point, to a girlfriend/boyfriend/husband/ wife/brother/sister/friend/relatives /loved one etc etc I bet you have at some point in your life,but I bet like me you didn't actually kill them,should we be in prison for that? 95% of the population has said those words and the other 5% are to young to talk Anyway, this ain't a hitman,this is a snooker player talking about cheating but not going through with it,he didn't cheat and that's what matters,he didn't except any cash or see the people again,no specific frames were discussed
