I can only recommend „real housewives of…“ It’s a series, but easy to find. Very enlightening if you want to make sense of this often „empty“ feeling modernity. I can‘t recommend it enough!

"theft" indians were killing each other hundreds of years before europeans. the moment the first american settlers were born in america, the land was theirs just as much as indians.

That's what I'm doing, far too late. Seeking out knowledge on my own, about this in particular - knowledge which was never fed to me by the education system I grew up with. It feels like the very least one can do. Further, as a PhD candidate in U.S. History, I hope one day to teach a course on this subject. However, I do not feel capable of teaching it from a genuine First Nations perspective - nor would that be my place.

That's neat. My dads side of our family is Tsaligi, and my moms side is European. I don't really remember all my grandfather told me of our ancestors sadly.

You're 100 percent right. I thought the exact same thing. He was hanging in his yard for a couple days. When they confronted him, he seemed dazed.
