I'll never stop being fascinated by John's psychology, how he somehow learned early on that attack was the best form of defence, the fight or flight tactic of constant negativity and criticism of others. And you can't help but feel there's the mental burden of denouncing others for being fake when of course 'Johnny Rotten' is a fake character. Utterly fascinating guy that has produced some of the best British music of all time. Thanks Scottish TeeVee for all of these videos.

John Lydon, a really great singer, and intelligent and downright funniest people you could enjoy and evening with. If he hadn't become a " singer, certainly comedian would have been his next calling as he's definitely an "entertainer' with too much charisma for a 9- 5 job! John Lydon foes down as one of my heroes, and I'm not just saying music, but period. I absolutely love the guy, and sure if I had lived in England instead of America we've probably been good friends, or me an unpaid rhodie anyway. lol! Thanks for the music and the laughs my friend. It's interesting. A person at work told me that she hated Rotten and the Pistols but she loves punk music. And I said to her that if it wasn't for Rotten and the Pistols there would be no punk music. Wow, John! I lived through this period, took on the revolutionary aspects as well as the honesty (I hope). At 67 now, I see its influence still, everywhere! Take fashion. We continue to colour our hair, wear Doc Martens, leather, badges and diverse jewellery, get tattoos and piercings. Personally I think that one of the things the punk movement gave us was the freedom to wear whatever we effing well like! Prior to that we followed a code of what was permissable and what was not. Like little lambs. And he is so right about hippydom!

On one he says "nothing, they are all useless" on another he says "Iggy Pop and reggae, that's it" yet on another he says how much he likes Kate Bush and her music and then if you read his book he mentions that he loves Hawkwind, The Kinks and The Doors. Firstly I should say that I am a massive fan of John and he's one of my favourite people in the industry plus I was born, raised and still live two streets away from the estate he grew up in and I was born on the same day (thirty years later but still 31st Jan)... So I am certainly not attacking him but as great as PiL were/are it would not be right for MTV or any mainstream platform to play their music. There is music that finds you and there is music you have to find. Both have a purpose. To be honest I am responding to the video in context because everything I wrote is redundant in today's world and the way most people access music.

Then I go to this interview five years later and he's all about the Sex Pistols. Talking about them getting ready to get back together with them. So somewhere between 87 and 92 is this Missing Link I'm looking for where he changed his tune completely

'''...but if we do, that would be all for the right reasons...' - there you go, 100% honesty as always, despite the sardonic smile conveying that remark about other members of the band's 'lesser 'thought'' contribution. The right reasons behind what would generate the Filthy Lucre tour in 4 years time? Everyone wanted to have a laugh and being able to say ''I saw the Pistols''. Being cruel to be kind is just another branch of honesty , just like being preemptively cautious with words, when you do have a mastermind.

For Lydon all the right reasons were more about who was and wasn't getting paid. Something I don't have a problem.. which I was old enough to trek out and see it back then.

This interview looks👀 way older than 1992. It still seems to have that 8mm quality

Sid was apparently a really good singer. I'd say he was equally as talented if not more so than John.

After John left the Sex Pistols I always thought that Sid could have replaced him and bought Glen Matlock back on Bass 👍

He used to seem to have great ideas but now he supports someone that works to ruin the opposite of what he used to speak of. It makes no sense that someone who supports the working class supports Trump. Trump only cares about the 1%.

around 3.30 he's definitely right. And it was yet 1992. Almost 30 years have passed... now that remark has outgrown the legend, except for those who never got it ( the utter sociocultural importance of Punk, not as a business but as a residue of indignation and resilience against ''the state of things'' or ''the public thing''). He's done his bit alright.
