Greetings, Antonio. Just wanted to be one of many who have spoken highly to you of your father's accomplishments in film and who's very appreciative of his efforts and legacy. John is warmly remembered by many with his acting credentials and it's impressive that he was able to give so much in the movie Enter the Dragon. Him having known Bruce and him being friendly to your father as they worked together, just warms my heart as they were just such kool "cat's" in their own rights. Take care and best wishes...pleasure to leave you with this message. Sincerely, Thaddeus Deane HOO-YAH & God Bless both their Memories and Souls...!!!

Sadly a bit too late now! The Academy means nothing these days. It used to be a prestigious institution, now it is a joke. Just another corrupt entity which gives awards to the undeserving. Yes, John Saxon definitely deserved a Lifetime Achievement Oscar, he was a brilliant actor who made every movie and show he appeared in worth watching. R.I.P.

I had the pleasure of meeting this wonderfully polite and modest actor in England some years ago and we chatted at some length. He took time to talk about his various roles in what turned out to be nearly 200 films. He explained that, for him, the highlight of his career was not, say, Enter The Dragon, but, instead, making The Appaloosa with Marlon Brando in 1966. John Saxon was nominated for a Golden Globe for that performance which, when you consider he was acting with Brando, who is widely regarded as perhaps the best actor of all time shows John’s performance was special. Sometimes, but not always John Saxon played relatively small roles. Most good actors will agree with the maxim “There are no small roles only small actors”. John Saxon was a true actor who very occasionally played small character roles, but, in doing so, he was always a giant.

When he starred in "The Bold Ones' Back in 1968. Universal had the stars and in this case David Hartman and John Saxon did a promotional tour to promote the TV show. They came to Atlanta and appeared at the Greenbriar Shopping Center and signed autographs and I remember his wife at the time Mary Ann going into one of the dress shops to buy a dress. I was 14 a the time and had a blast. Mr Saxon and Mr Hartman were nice guys.

It will be in the next issue, and coming out soon. You can get a copy on Amazon, or contact Pete Chiarella, publisher of GP directly on Facebook. I encourage you to go to the Facebook group, Grindhouse Purgatory, and join to be kept up-to-date when the issue is officially released.

@@DoppelgangerShockwave Sincerely respect your feedback and suggestions. I remember my father's connection to Grind house (starting when? do not know exactly). My sole reason for posting "my request" publicly, something I Never do is to better understand what transpired during the last months of his life. I had always been with him- physically (more difficult since October 2016 but yet still 3 or 4 times a year when he was moved to Tennessee) and over weekly video, phone calls etc. As of the first of year 2020. Everything changed. Yes, Covid 19 2020 but there is much more to the (his) story which, unfortunately is not told. There were people, one specifically (no need to call out), who took advantage of him in a grave manner for a decade or more since he was diagnosed with dementia/Alzheimer’s. Said, person, doesn’t want or ever will be honest. However, for better or worse, in the days of social media there is someone out there who know more than I do. I will continue to “request the same” because eventually “more factual information” will surface. Again, with appreciation and respect. Antonio Saxon antoniosaxon@gmail.com
