Thats why Marcus wanted to know if it was an exclusive contract. It wasn't, so everyone could go after John, so he figured he could as well help him.

I sort of view them as being like 'favor' coins. A way to even the scales against someone who has far more money than you is by being coin-rich. This way, the Continental crime syndicate isn't just a bunch of organized groups bullying independent workers. You trade these coins for services that are universally accessible and relatively 'affordable', even if you lack the cash flow that would normally be required for such things.

These were "Coined" as "No Questions Asked" coins. They were used for things and favors that didn't need to be questioned. Hence why John Wick didn't answer the question from the "Dinner Reservation" when they were done cleaning up Wick's house.

It’s not just that Perkins tried to kill John. She also killed the other guy(but not for self defense), and you’re not allowed to do any of that at the Continental. Even the guy she killed at the hotel warned her that Management was gonna be pissed about what she’d _already_ done.

1:10, I've always wondered what this movie was about, them I realized he was an assassin for hire by the Russian Mafia. When he wanted the out of the business, he pulled off one more assignment, lived a peaceful life with Helen, his wife, until she succumbed to cancer. She gave him a dog to help live his life to the fullest.

3:54. The puppy's last crawl was the proverbial last straw for me. Later in the movie, when JW had the chance to kill Iosef and he didn't, I was probably the last one to understand what passive fear means: Iosef now knows just how deadly good JW is and by making him constantly looking over his shoulder as he moved from safehouse to safehouse turned whatever's left of his life into one giant fear bubble.

I saw in another video on John Wick about the use of colour. It's blue when John has the advantage, red when he's in danger. What a FANTASTIC directorial choice!

you may not have noticed that Daisy crawled to John as she was dying. thats her blood on the floor from where she had been injured to where she died next to John.

He wasn't missing the glass was deflecting the trajectory of his bullets look up a video about it it's actually really interesting and could save your life one day of course it's more a matter of luck than skill

In my opinion, John wick has the highest level of testosterone in his body. That makes him ruthless, most amazing assassin.

He did a lot for training with guns for this series. All of the stunts are him. It's so real that, you can count the shots and see him reloading.

Somebody commented in another reaction that the dog he rescues at the end was going to be euthanized the next day. That's why he chose that specific one.

u must see the club fight again. When the boy is running, john shooting is so precise that, while the boy is in motion, he know to kill him, he has to shoot not on boy but a bit ahead, so when the boy reaches there, he is killed by the bullet...

John Wick is one of the greatest anerican action movies of all time. The story, performance's, music, direction, screenplay, visuals, editing, action sequences, and cinematography was outstanding and incredible. Keanu Reeves did a phenomenal and spectacular job portraying John Wick. He really put tons of emotion and depth into his role. It definitely and completely reintroduced and revitalized his career in the action genre. It was decent. To this day I still watch it and I consider it a classic. It never gets old. 😍😎👍💯

Also the director had to fight the studio to keep the dog killing scene in the movie. Admittedly it was a huge risk that people would walk out of the theater. In fact the opposite happened. Anything that happened to them was justified as payback for killing the dog.

And it was the last scene shot before the wrap and the transition to editing since movies and TV shows like NCIS, FBI, and others are never shot in the order that we see it on the screen.

The sniper shot, as you correctly pointed out, was an intentional warning. He aimed directly at John's head but the wind direction (evidenced by Marcus' hair blowing slightly) affected the bullet's flight path causing it to miss and wake him up. I don't know how realistic that is as the building was not far away from John's bed so how much the wind would affect the bullet in real life is something for science to determine I guess. Fun fact, the username of Iosef's lieutenant in the video game is "Neo"...

Another movie to check out with similar vibes to these is Nobody. It's premise sounds a lot like a knockoff version of this but it's equally amazing in it's own unique way.

Reason y John was well known, is bc his old boss told him if he wants to be with his wife he has to take down 3 other mob bosses in 1 night, which made John a legend to the hitman world

For context for how grave an offense striking a man in a large criminal organization is. The mob had a rule. If you raise your hand to a made man. You were dead even if you had good reason. Even if you are also a made man. Violence was not tolerated against other made guys. Now im not sure what criminal organization this group is based off of but id imagine it to be treated similarly as a great offense. The mechanic striking his son and having no punishment speaks to just how much he fucked up. His father literally beats sense into his son. If it had been any other member who did that to John wick they would of been killed or offered to john. But it was his son. And what the boss says goes. This universe does have that rule for certain locations even. Violence on those grounds is not tolerated. The fact people got away with disrespecting the bosses son speaks to their fear of John.

That puppy wasn't heavy enough to need to drag; you could carry a beagle puppy in one hand. Daisy crawled to John for comfort, then died there in front of him. Makes her death even more painful, which adds to John's hurt and rage.
