In today's adventure, we're exploring the Greenmount Cemetery in Baltimore, Maryland. It was founded in 1838 as a response to the overcrowded burial grounds in the city. Originally several miles outside of the city, it has since been swallowed up by the city's expansion. It became the final resting place for numerous notable figures, including John Wilkes Booth, the assassin of President Abraham Lincoln. Greenmount is known for its beautiful landscape and historic significance, serving as a burial site for both prominent citizens and Civil War soldiers, among other famous and notable individuals.
