I Quit! After 13 years, I turned in my 2 week notice today, to focus on my side hustle, I don’t have it all figured it out but I do have a lots of trust and faith in God and myself, after all I worked for someone else why don’t give myself a chance. 🥰🥰

I left my 12 year job a couple of months ago, and I couldn’t be happier. Remember life is too short!! Having a job & a boss controlling your life and mental health is modern slavery! You can either accept being a slave and stop complaining, or have the courage and be free!

Just quit my job yesterday. Felt so good I'm still riding that good feeling wave today! I've decided to devote most of my time to something I'm passionate about and start writing about it. I plan on giving $10k a person weekend seminars once I gather all my thoughts together on the subject :D

I quit. Company rescinds benefits and offers after qualifying for them. HR is condescending and rude, and not on the side of the employees, but instead the employers. Turn over rate is already high. Overwhelming timelines. Declinning happiness and contempt rising. I'm typing up my 2 week resignation letter tonight and handing it in tomorrow.

It’s been a month now. I quit and I’m the happiest I have ever been. I’m a full time filmmaker now, a film director. Since I quit, I’ve been getting booked non stop as a filmmaker. I’m living my dreams!

william n I was in the same boat as you and accepted a government job as an Internal Auditor back in 2011, and took almost a 50 percent pay cut with the idea that government jobs are stress free 8 hour jobs. The job was great, but then out of nowhere in 2016, the executive management had a “reorganization,” in which my wonderful boss was fired and I was just thrown into the accounting department. The head of the accounting department had me do audits until early 2019, but then again out of nowhere, she decided that she had enough of auditing, and I was thrown again to do completely clerical work of loading invoices. My pay has not gone up much, and I am no longer allowed to do audits simply because the management doesn’t value auditors. I have TWO MASTERS DEGREES, a CERTIFICATION in INTERNAL AUDIT, and 15 years of audit experience, and I am being FORCED to do CLERICAL work for MORE than a YEAR. The new manager whom I am supporting in this Clerical work hollers over me several times a day. I have to ask for PERMISSION to use the bathroom or step out for lunch and I am a 46 year old adult with all this education and experience. While I have had three interviews over the past year, nobody has made me an offer, so I am STUCK loading invoices as a CLERK and being told that it’s my job. These people have FORCED me out of my CAREER as an Internal Auditor and are making me do crap work, with the excuse that it is “other duties as needed” in my job description. THIS is called being SCREWED. I can’t just quit because I have an 8 year old to support. Just getting another job is unfortunately not always the answer. I wish I could be my own boss.

When you're unemployed, you're glad for any work at all. But, being unhappily employed may cost you in the long run far more than your paycheck is worth today. Me and my line manager increased sales by 25% year on year. No raise after 3 years. Team restructured, nepotism from new boss hires in friends from old job. Me and line manager moved to an analysis role. Sales dropped 50% year on year. New boss thinks it great. I QUIT!!! Got a job now with more pay, doing what I enjoy.

There are so many frustrating aspects of my job that just leave me angry a lot. I left a restaurant I was happy at for this one because I was told I’d make a lot more money. The money isn’t that much better, and there’s a whole lot more work. Not to mention, the people there are all a young, acid tripping anime watching clique, so I definitely feel out of place. It’s time I make a change. I yelled at a co worker tonight and that just proved to me that this job is just making me miserable.

You know? I watched a news report about amazon using robots at their warehouses & the newsperson said something along the lines of people being afraid to loose their jobs due to robots replacing them & I was like "what?! that's the way it should be! people shouldn't be trading their time/life for money & ultimatly (overall) products/services that will ultimately fade away!" They have been programed... it's like the person (tipically a woman) who grows up in an emotionally unhealthy emviroment seeing her parent (typically mom) being abused by dad & so when she grows up, she thinks (is programed to thinking) that the norm is an abusive relationship. Another example would be the circus elephant who grows up being tied to a sturdy stake & is unable to rip it away & so when he grows up, the circus people tie it to a stake which the elephant can easily break away from but he doesn't bc he's been conditioned to thinking he can't.

My boss is great. Company is great. Pay is great. Location is terrible. In LA traffic is so bad. We can’t relocate. My side hustle is about 2k per month. I’m trying hard to get it up to 5k so I can quit.

I don't really have time for personal life. I work two jobs and I am a partner in both of them, so I don't technically have to 'quit' as an employee but this means I have to dissolve two or even one of the two partnerships. Partnership A has good turnover but no room for expansion since for years now we are dealing with the same things over and over again - no challenge.. Partnership B has challenge and new things going on all the time, but less turnover for all of the partners. So I don't know what I should do.
