Delightful. Song was written by Johnny’s friend, the poet Shel Silverstein. This is first record I ever got, my dad drove me to the record store when it came out. I was not yet 5. I still have it even if Johnny and my dad have passed on. Thanks, guys Ps - meeting Cash and being hugged by him felt like being touched by the hand of God. Definitely a highlight in a life well lived,

My mother-in-law named my hubby Christy because she thought Christopher would be too hard for him to learn to spell. His dad was a military man, so the family moved every two to three years. Everyone always called my hubby Chris, but at each new school the teacher would call him Christy on the first day. Guess what? He learned to fight because the kids made fun of him. He's always said that he was a Boy Named Sue.

My husband and I got married in mid July, 28 years ago and we just returned from our anniversary trip to Gatlinburg Tennessee. For the first time in my life I heard the line "it was Gatlinburg in mid July". Funny how words written 50+ years ago can hit a familiar key at just the right time.

Guys, the title is worth a second look...Live at San Quentin, 1969. Johnny Cash had one last record on his contract with the label and he was given complete creative control, so he insisted on doing a live album from inside California's maximum security prison, San Quentin. The audience you see are all inmates doing the hardest time in the state. Only Johnny, man. Only Johnny!
