Everyone reacts and expresses in different ways and at different times over the course of abuse and all of this. Sometimes you get so exhausted and numb you may appear cold, indifferent or emotionless but that is only because of the abuse you've gone through and of course how it all gets hammered and beat to death even more in court. Really don't care for all these subjective interpretations of subjective experiences as if the way you or someone else judges the outward appearance of another person they don't even know and doesn't think it "fits" with the other person's personal context which you also don't know and only have as partial contexts chopped up into bits and pieces then carefully presented in court. It's really not accurate and does not indicate guilt or innocence at all. In a realtionship like this it's all sorts of back a forth, psychological dynamics etc and for people to watch this on TV and think they can judge exactly what the truth is is absolutely ridiculous.

All of this behavior fits the diagnosis of the psychologist who gave her tests and testified that she has Borderline Personality Disorder with Histrionic behavior.

The reason the gaslighting goes on, is to allow the person to deny an uncomfortable reality. Denying reality is how a narcissist denies responsibility. Taking responsibility makes them so internally anxious and uncomfortable that they literally tantrum. They attack anyone who confronts them with reality. Denying reality is however, a mental disorder. The result is someone who says “the sky is red because I say so, and if you say it’s not you are hurting my feelings. And I may attack you for hurting my feelings. When you say the sky is blue instead of red, you are attacking me. Simple. Delusional.

But though there was lack of evidence they believed her (even though she later retracted that stance, the COURT was the one to bring about charges). People who knew me knew how she was and that I'd NEVER lay my hands on someone I cared about. She was the type to wail on her own head with a candle jar until she bled and then said I made her do it. So I got 5 years felony probation, because my lawyer was biased apparently, and that was 7 years ago. My life has been flipped upside down for it. I wanted to be a psychotherapist or researcher to help people, but now I work in construction. That's just how life goes I guess...

Pausing between every other word or sentence to collect themselves, unable to speak properly because they're crying or have a shaky voice, visible panic or anxiety. Overtime, resentment takes place of fear and sympathy (atleast in my case) and are able to recount with minimal emotion (unless it's a traumatic to the person that they can recount the whole thing but breakdown at the moment when it starts to get the most traumatic).
