He is not only a phantastic player and great teacher - also seems to be a heck of a nice guy without any diva-attitude. He doesn't try to be hip or funny at any cost. He simply likes to share what he loves: His music. Johnny is definately the type of guy you want to drink a beer with.

Honestly, how can anyone dislike the way this man plays. Johnny is a top shelf player and world class.

Outlier question please. I noticed your fingernails. Are you using artificial gel nails on some fingers, and if so, what kind are you using? Now that the weather is changing in sunny Phoenix AZ, the humidity is lower, and my natural fingernails constantly crack, even with using funky "nail hardener" every 3 days, that mostly don't WORK! I have always been of the opinion that those who are gifted with God given talent should share and teach their talent to those of us who are less gifted. Itzhak Perlman, for decades has shared his talent with those less fortunate in talent. Johnny Hiland carries on this tradition with a wonderful set of videos but he does it in a way that is geared for even a beginner. I am very obliged to Johnny for this and I am certain anyone learning this technique is as well!!

I'm 65 and have had a serious problem with my hands for over 20 years. I was unable to play guitar. I finally got my hands back and saw a Johnny video and ran out and bought a guitar and listening to every word Johnny can offer to me!! Very sweet manner and good ole boy ramble to him!!
