2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1: Is it Worth the Money and is it a Muscle Car or a Sports Car?

Reviewed will be everything that makes the Mach 1 great. I will not just cover the handling pack Mach 1 Mustang that I had but will also cover the standard Mach 1 Mustang that is not standard, or ordinary, by any means whatsoever. We will also jump in and discuss all the technology that makes both the mustang GT and the Mach 1 amazing. So we will talk Drive modes and how they modify the parameters to the traction control system, stability control system as well as the steering wheel performance and feel. Now I will explain how
Traction Control and Stability Control modes in track mode mean all 460 or 480 ponies are 99% yours to control or well... not control. In otherwords you get to crash 99% of the car wherever you don't want to. The result for too many is nose diving into a crowd on the way out of a car show. Ill explain what to do and not do to avoid this.
The misconception by most is that track mode means faster car and faster car means I'm so cool. In the hands of an absolute prefoessional on a track well yes track mode can allow them to squeeze a faster lap out. However, driving out of a car show or at the lights it is not necessary. You will spin more tire and as a result be slower. On top of that all the Ford technological magic that keeps you in a straight line by correcting and modifying power to the rear wheels has been told to sit down and shut up. However, if this were an automatic then yes shift points would be more aggressive and you will straight line a little faster, that is if you can straight line.
I will also cover the steering modes and how steering effort and feel also becomes tight and very responsive in track mode. By this I mean that the steering wheel offers more resistance on turn in and the ratio between steering wheel turn and the front tires is smaller.
I will also cover if the mustang makes a good Grand Tourer or not. Ofcourse power specs, fuel economy, acceleration and my overall impression with some car history will be discussed in this video.

I built a Mach 1 with the handling package on the Ford website last night and it came out to a little over $64,000 USD! Damn!!!

Mach 1 6MT w/ track package + recaro = $68K. It is just too much money for what it is. There's no scenario to justify this over Camaro 1SS 1LE 6MT that is a total track weapon at $47K.

Honestly the Reccaro’s suck they are so uncomfortable!!!! The standard seat are much nicer! Not to mention you lose the power option as well as heated and cooled seats with the Reccaro’s not worth it at all......

i like the reccaro seats, the other seat with the heating and cooling isnt bad at all but still prefer the reccaros mind u i have a 2021 mach 1, i had the 2018 gt with the reccaro seats so i kno difference

@@Johnnyscarcarereviews- Recaros are nice but I want the ❤adjustable power lumbar support and the heating and cooling functions, if it’s a daily driver in hot or cold weather. The Recaros are definitely ok if you don’t need lumber support.

Nice review! 👍. The Tremec is awesome! With the Mach1 you get rev matching which you don’t get in the GT350! If I didn’t have a GT350R, the MACH1 would certainly be on my list! Thanks for sharing a very comprehensive review! 👍

Sorry to say, the Recaro seats do not make your mustang unique. Any mustang can have them optioned, loads do, and the hype around them is not warranted. At best they are an average track seat and a below average daily driver seat. Save the money, try the standard seat (which actually are unique in this model), then if you track it and need more bolstering, get better after market options.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the Recaros. As for the rare factor I should have more clearly stated that if you get a Mach 1 with handling package add the Recaro for extra uniqueness or rararness. I found them as comfortable as my 2018 mustang GT seats. Mach 1 with handling package is very limited. My local dealer wanted at least 3 and could only get 1 while other dealers got none. We can't get more

Was at the dealer yesterday. Mach 1 in Canada at least at this dealer.....15k markup making it just over $90,000 Canadian

Funny you should say that as the same thought has crossed my mind. Ford calls it Jet Fighter Grey, and it is only available on the Mach 1.

LOVE the Mach 1, but definitely overpriced!! C8 is a much better value, especially since you can get them @ MSRP if you order one.

@@pawg206 I specifically said "if you order one." There are many dealers selling them @ MSRP if you order one thru them. It takes about a year to get it though. I'm at 3000 status with my order, so I should get the car in a couple months. Paying $69k for a 2021 1LT with Z51 package + mag ride, which is MSRP. FYI: MacMulkin is one of those dealers selling at MSRP, and also with zero added fees.

@@pawg206 I didn't really get lucky, I was just made aware of what dealers sell @ MSRP and contacted one of them and gave my $1000 deposit, which was last August. It doesn't have to be in your area, these dealers even have people from overseas placing orders with them. For me the dealer I chose was Criswell, which is about 3.5 hours away. It's nothing in the grand scheme of things to drive a few hours when you are making a $70k purchase, and saving so much money over what local dealers will charge. You can also inquire with local dealers about placing an order with them too. Unsold cars on a lot is what is marked up, because people are willing to pay a lot more to get the car NOW as opposed to waiting a year or so when you place an order. There was/is alot of buyers who did this and immediately sold the car and made $10k-$30k profit.

@@Johnnyscarcarereviews yeah, in comparison to the original Mach 1 even though it was old and its traction and cornering needed much work, it was monstrous and it really defined and gave meaning to the word "muscle car"...!
