How good is kettle ball? Defect doesn't really have ways to attack multiple times (yes, there's Claw For One and Barrage, but those are exceptions that prove the rule) and it considers campfires high priority with all of its cards that need upgrades. So, it seems to me that it's a bit of a trap for Defect. Even the Silent would suffer somewhat when you give up all of those campfires, right? How does it compare against Mercury Hourglass for damage per turn, and how does it compare against Shovel for "give up a relic and campfires for a benefit"?

Overexplained runs are the best runs. Not to be neat picking or something, but you missed where to join the community... :P One more spoon feeding question, any chance for spire talk on how you evaluated the strength of stuff? How '"strong" Glacier, how situational is Giyura and so on. You had a similar talk where you bundled all the rewards from fights to be able to evaluate different path (how much fireplace worth vs how much elite worth and so on). But it might be different. I'm always baffled (but trusting with my eyes close) when you determine "there are such and such efficient ways to place Defect", out of maybe not infinite different possibilities, but close enough to make a good impression. How do you narrow all these vast field of options into any kind of coherent strong strategy.

Well after those 3 combats you find yourself with one more card if you picked "choose a card" instead. It's more about if you can beat the 3 first combat without losing too much HP. Ofc if you get to kill an elite thats a whole other thing.

I think prioritizing lifting over upgrades was not a good choice. In my experience, upgrades on Defect are really powerful. Upgrading, for example, Reinforced Body before the fight would have won it. Upgrading Static Discharge before Hexaghost would definitely helped your dmg output immensely in any hard fight - cause that was Discharge does best, carrying you through fights above your weight class. The last upgrade is a bit more questionable. Dualcast or Zap would be nice, as energy was a concern, yet draw abundant. Definitely see the Lift there, though.

@Bob134543 жыл бұрын
What mistake?
@Krosis_2 жыл бұрын
If you're referring to the Dual Cast + Zap play, instead of Zap + Dual Cast, you're the one making a mistake: Zap + Dual Cast would be 30 dmg total from orbs at the end of that turn, with 2 orbs still remaining. Dual Cast + Zap is 25 damage at the end of the turn, with 3 orbs remaining. However, at the end of the turn Lagavulin hits and channels an orb with Static Discharge. With 2 orbs up, that turns into 9 dmg dealt at the end of the turn (from channeling a 3rd orb). With 3 orbs up, thats 17 dmg (from evoking an orb as another one gets channeled). So going Dual Cast + Zap ends up with 42 damage in 2 turns, compared to 39 dmg from Zap + Dual Cast.

Hey Jorbs! I really like the videos as they are helping me learn the game faster. I just finished beating all 9 bosses and have won with all 3 characters! But I think these overexplained vids would be drastically better if you recorded a run where you didn’t explain anything. You just played and hopefully defeat the heart. Then you can just give commentary on why you made the decisions you did. This would a.) ensure that you defeat the heart so that we could have a full strategy for all 4 acts without having the run end on act 2 and b.) possibly make the vid better at explaining because you can rewind/ fast forward when necessary to emphasize the strategies and talking points.

If your metric is reaching/beating A20 with every character, I'm not even halfway "done" with the game. It's easy to reference what a relic does on a wiki, it's less easy to get insight into why a player picks card X over cards Y and Z in a given situation. That's the purpose of this video.
