Corruption is good because it allows you to put more "Clash" in your deck

Mark Rosewater, of MTG fame, refers to cards which only or mostly function to get you ahead of you're already ahead as 'win more' cards. Calipers could be considered as a win more relic.

eh. all you need for calipers to do something is to have an impervious in your deck or w/e. it's a relic with good incidental output in a lot of situations. (i may have said stuff different from ^ in this video though, it was recorded a while ago).

14:45 not taking Whirlwind vs Slime Boss is such a big mistake in my eyes. The AOE is insane, even more so in later stages and just because it's suboptimal vs one elite in act I I would never skip it.

Seems like you could have taken 5 less damage at 12:13. But in all seriousness, thank you for these videos. You have truly astounding insight into this game!

In the three Louse fight at 12:20-ish you could've just killed the backline and still taken exactly 8 damage. It didn't end up mattering at all, but maybe a slight misplay still.

I’m not quite understanding not taking Whilrwind for being bad against Lagavulin but taking Pummel Strike later on despite’s it being even worse...
@Jorbs
@Jorbs 3 жыл бұрын
pummel exhausts when played, so it leaves your deck before you have strength down against lagavulin

I find Metallicize interacts very well with Orichalcum, personally. I don't run on Ascension 15 yet though. Of course I say this without watching the whole thing while you said Orichalcum didn't interact well with anything, and you just a few minutes later said the same thing.

is it weird if I perform better with the silent?
@TUX3D0S
@TUX3D0S 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah. JolNrbs's winrate over 25-30ish silent runs in a row is roughly equal to his overall winrate on ironclad im pretty sure, but thats generally pretty hard to do. Arguments could be made why Ironclad isn't strictly better (I think hes strictly just way too good right now), but Ironclad is definitely way easier to learn regardless of the inherent strength of the character.
@windscar18

I think the other thing to note is that if you're playing lower difficulty, a lot of the weaknesses of the Silent aren't as apparent (you don't have to fight Elites on non-Ascension, for example, so your lack of damage doesn't hurt you very much as Silent, Alchemize is way better, you can comfortably achieve heavy block without much worry of boss scaling, etc.).
@pirate135246
@pirate135246 6 жыл бұрын
im at a higher ascension with the silent than ironclad, i feel like i have hit a wall with ironclad. Probably because it's easier to autopilot with silent since i play when im tired
@sadbanana5896
@sadbanana5896 6 жыл бұрын
his win rate with iron clad is 69.31% and 53.38% with silent which is significant difference.

I'm the same way. I'm at like a5 or something with silent and 2 or 3 with defect, but I've never won with ironclad. I haven't been playing long though. To me, silent was an order of magnitude easier to learn

I feel like people over think this game like it's a deep card game. Heavy Blade, whirlwind are literally the 2 game winning cards for ironclad. There's no reason not to pick heavy blade early... it deals 1 more damage per energy than strike. If you dont get strength cards by act 2 then you rely on something like carnage or immolate, whirlwind. It's an rng game anyway. Gambling early makes more sense than trying to make a deck work "now". A bloated deck with minimal upgrades isn't gonna fare any better than an unlucky setup attempt.
@Jorbs
@Jorbs 4 жыл бұрын
your deck starts off bloated; strikes and defends are bloat. it also gets bloated badly by many many fights; wounds, dazes, burns, are all bloat cards. adding solid commons and uncommons to your deck in act 1 has the opposite effect of what you're describing.

@SkateFallen1424
@SkateFallen1424 2 жыл бұрын
its 1 more damage per energy, yeah, but you can't always look at it that way, because a lot of times you simply can't play a 2 cost when you could play a 1 cost -- especially early on when you're frequently using 2/3 energy on blocking and the remaining 1 for damage
