I know there have been a number of these, but here is my Joker movie reaction... because it deserves one. This movie was made to get a reaction, and I'm going to give this 2019 movie a review as well! In short, it is amazingly well put together, and very sad, but worth at least one watch.
Joker stars Joaquin Phoenix, Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Marc Maron, Josh Pais, Shea Whigham. Directed by Todd Phillips.

Interesting Eloy, never thought about the proto joker perspective, or, that what happened after the accident was taking place in his mind. Good stuff, you gave me some new perspective on this film.

Thanks for checking out the review! And I’m always happy to give new perspectives. Since I did my review I’ve been watching other breakdowns and it’s looking like basically nothing in this movie happened at all. 😂

Just like you, I finally watched the Joker this week. My initial reaction was disappointed and flat. Based on hype and expectations of an origin story I was expecting something else. I found it to be more in the vein of a Split like psychosis of a killer movie which I do enjoy. Viewed in that light I really like the movie. I just didn't buy it as a Joker origin story. Your suggestion that it be seen as a proto Joker origin story makes much more sense. I think Joaquin Phoenix did an outstanding job as the role was written. However, I have seen polls about the best Joker actor / best portrayal and I wouldn't even put him in the poll for previously stated reasons. BTW (not that you asked), my rankings of the 4 main Jokers is very hard as I find each one has qualities which make them perfect for the version of Batman they acted in. They being said 1: Jack Nicholson (the Prince connection wins out) 2: Heath Ledger (the best dark, dark Joker) 3: Caesar Romero (campy at its best 4: Jared Leto (someone had to be last).

I will share an unpopular opinion.. I actually dug Jared Leto's Joker. It was over the top, but I mean... is that the Joker all over? and thanks for always checking out my stuff and supporting. It means the world.

@@TheTurnout I loved his performance. I could truly support an argument for all 4 to be number 1. You keep putting up quality, thoughtful content, I will continue to support you. I love your points of view. Many things are very informative and I learn something. Others are so thought provoking and challenge me to think about a topic. Some are filled with some deep dive tid bits that I love discovering. Some are just plain fun. Your balance is a strength. I appreciate that you make no claims of being an expert like many do. You possess a deep core knowledge, but back it up with research. A true student of Prince and your other endeavors. Thank you for all the hard work. You are such a vital asset to our community.
