They say the pain experienced during childbirth is second only to the pain one feels when a pitcher loses a no-hitter with two outs.

Honestly, Thank you. I am a die hard Blue Jay fan and i was watching this game as it happened. I bring it up all the time to Baseball fans. This game is so very overlooked and truly was a gem of a Pitching performance. 17 strikeouts. Vernon Wells left the game with a bruised foot , diving up against the center field wall, while in an effort to keep the no no going. I also never forgave Aaron Hill for not getting that ground ball. lol One out away, and a seeing eye single dribbles by the infield. I'll never forget this game. and now Hopefully, others will remember the night Brandon Morrow was untouchable. Thanks again for that great video.

Remember when Wells dove for that ball in center field and dropped it, but held it up and the ump made the out call? That would make a great Jolly Olive video!

Let’s not overlook that he was pitching in a tight game too. Only 5 hits on the board for the Jays at the end of the game, and only one run scored the entire game. He was pitching under pressure the entire 9 innings. Bravo.

Oh man, I remember being in the stands for that game as a kid. We would usually leave around the 7th or 8th inning because my Papa wanted to beat the Toronto traffic after the game, so when he wanted to stay until the end, it was a huge deal. We went up to the concourse level for the 9th so we could see the celebration if he indeed finished it off, get some photos, and then still try to get on the road before everyone else. My mom's favourite player was Aaron Hill, so when we saw the ball go off his glove, she was probably the most upset out of everyone. We were all praying to God that they would score it an error on Hill, so seeing the 1 appear in the hit column felt like a real punch to the gut. The entire hour-long car ride home was us talking about the game, and when the conversation started to drift to something else, one of us would've said something like "do you guys realize just how close we came to seeing a no-hitter?!" I'll never forget that night.

Brandon Morrow had his moments, even when he was with the Mariners. I was at a game in Seattle in September 2008 when they were taking on the Yankees and he took a no-hitter into the 8th before giving up a hit. Definitely one of my favorite games I saw and I was sad to see him go to Toronto

I remember this game. My parents dragged me to the big box local furniture store to browse couches. I wandered off and hunkered down on the most expensive display, which happened to feature an armchair and big screen TV showing the Jays game. Eventually around the 7th inning, my parents came over and we all just sat around the TV, hoping for the no-hitter. That Longoria base hit was devastating, man.

"Pesky" is the perfect word to describe that Rays team. They reminded me of the 80s Cardinals with all those pesky contact hitters and speed but very little power. I mean Tommy Herr is one of the only modern baseball players I know with a plus 100RBI season while swatting less than 10 homers. I mean those are some deadball era stats right there. I think Willie McGee was their best hitter and all around player - and he's sadly been forgotten in favor of Ozzie Smith (which is totally understandable) but Willie was clearly their best all around player back in the mid to late 80s. They had some great pitching as well - led by another very good but forgotten guy - John Tudor.

A lot of great pitching performances against that Rays team tbh. 3 perfect games no less which is tied for most all time with the Dodgers who have been around since the 1800s. All 3 of them were against this Rays core who had a pretty solid offense through those years. Weird.
