MAJOR upgrades to the Jon boat! This was long overdue for me!
If you run a long tail like me and your standing up in your boat this will change everything for you. Shoot even sitting down is better lol. The Swamp Runner kit is a very durable option for a long tail.

Scrap the wood and go to tractor supply or Amazon and get some horse stall mat or a gym floor mat install over your foam insulation

I've got some of the foam mats from harbor freight that I thought about using but I didn't know if it would be hot to your feet because it is black. I may have to just try it out and see how it works.

If you got an old satellite dish in your yard, that you no longer use the bracket that you bolted to the side of your boat that your son made just grab it off the satellite dish. Cool idea.

cool video man, I agree that a grab bar makes a huge difference on a mud boat. Mines saved my butt a few times. What size prop are you running at this point?

Yes it is a nice addition for sure! I'm running a 8.5" but I'm thinking of trying something else.

For the floor is the foam necessary? My question is does it serve a purpose besides the wood siting even. Like does it serve a purpose distribution for weight to make rivets not leak as soon. Thanks ! About to do this

Oh yeah it does make the floor a lot more Ridgid without using thick plywood. It will let you use a lighter weight plywood which is the main reason I used it to keep the weight down. Good luck hope that helps!
