It’s nothing short of amazing that you all grew up together and grew close as family and stayed that way for 50 years. Every so often I binge watch the entire Waltons series. Jon you are a very talented musician and your character Jason was so special in so many ways.

I got to see Jon play with Richard Marx's band several times. My favorite was in New Orleans. Cabrini High School won a contest. The band came and played. During the show Richard would introduce the band. We (my friends) started screaming Jason, Jason. For the rest of the show Jon came over and played for us. It was a great night. Love the Waltons. Thank you Jon.

I loved Jon in the Richard Marx Band also! I would love for Jon to play with now full time guitar player Bernie Williams (ex Yankees center fielder from the 1990s) as that match up would be so cool!

Jon, your music really ended up adding so much to the show. I'm a musician too and I notice these things. One of my favorite episodes was the one where you and John Boy are dreaming about your futures and how you're going to be at Carnegie Hall. What a wonderful show The Waltons was/is. I still watch it every day.

This came up in my feed because I've been watching Judy Norton's channel since during lockdowns. Great interview. I definitely think Jon and David Harper and Eric Scott don't get the credit they deserve for their acting because of course Richard was the star. But, each had their own ways of making what they were doing believable. The talent level on the show was just off the charts. One of, if not the best dramatic TV shows ever.

Great interview! Thank you for this interesting point of view and insights into Jon's music and career. I really hear the British accent. i wonder if that developed because he has lived there more recently or if he dropped it intentionally for the Waltons. I was surprised he didn't mention my favorite guest star, Merle Haggard, and what it was like working with him.

LONG TIME, and still, a huge Waltons fan !!! You know, its quite interesting how it appears the entire cast, especially including ALL of the Walton family members, are such "grounded"/normal individuals. They all developed such fame and notoriety yet stayed "real" and so humble !!! Don't know if anyone has ever done a study about the possible effect going through a time like the Depression would have on a entire "society" of people. Living that experience every day for that many years as actors might have that same effect. For sure, a study that might be well worth the cost especially given the similarities and opposites we are currently living ??? I was hoping Jon would mention doing the episode that Merle Haggard was in (The Comeback). It would have been interesting to hear how the two "musicians" got along while doing the episode. Sincerely miss all of the characters from the cast who have passed including Mr. Haggard !!! Thank you for doing this series of interviews. !!!👍👍👍✌🤟❤❤

Between Ellen and Will, you will find 'connections' with virtually everyone and and every side of the acting business. Someday just read through their bios for their list of credits. Stage, screen (big or small) and radio, they were ever - present for over 50 years each. they were among the most sought after character actors in the business.

Thanks Ross for asking Jon about his Martin guitar! It's so great he still owns it. The D-18 model essentially was unchanged through the years and the only way I knew it wasn't a pre-war Martin was the tuning pegs were different in the 1930s and 1940s. One thing always amused me. How is it a dirt poor family during the depression, when scraping up five dollars seemed unattainable, could afford a Martin guitar? Even in the 1930s it was priced at over two hundred dollars new! A used one would sell for a hundred dollars, maybe a bit less. Although it was never established on the show as to how Jason obtained the guitar I'd like to think it was gifted to him by a neighbor or extended family member. Keep up the great work! Looking forward to future interviews! I hope you can interview David Harper at some point. I've met him and he's a really nice guy.

@goplad1 Жыл бұрын
@@joannadumas4799 I had completely forgotten that! I'm glad you brought that to my attention. That was a pretty generous gift! In the '30s a quality guitar was only for the well to do and professionals. Sears and Montgomery Ward sold cheap guitars so that is what most folks played in that era.

It is bizarre hearing Jon's mixed accent, which is a mixture of English /US sounds. Early in the series he tried to talk with a Southern accent, which sounded really terrible and he continued with his normal accent. One of my favourite Jason moments was when the Baldwin sisters wanted to adopt Jason in the Thanksgiving, then he finally ended up staying in the Baldwin home on the Burn Out. SM Au
