I love Michael so much. Thank goodness she was there for Ellen at key times and carrying her to her final resting place. With other TV programs, you think of all of the personal issues with cast members during and after the show's run. Yet the Walton cast is as wholesome as the show they created. I don't think it is an accident the warmth people feel around the world when watching the Walton's. These were good people looking out for each other, both in the roles they played and in real life.

Thank you for this series Ross. The Waltons are special to so many here in the U.S. and around the world. I clearly recall sitting in front of our B&W TV at age 13 in December of 1971 and watching (what turned out to be) the pilot for "The Waltons" TV series, "The Homecoming". I subsequently watched the show as it played out over the next nine years. It's good to see the actors as they are in 2023 and to hear their reminiscences. Thank you again.

Michael is a New Englander! I'm from Vermont. It's so good to see Michael so many actors I grew up watching are gone and so are most of the people I knew. I'm a 63 year old orphane who now looks forward to going home to the Lord's kingdom.

Michael is still just as gorgeous as she ever was ❤ Loved her role as Mom (Olivia) in the Waltons...everyone on the show was cast perfectly !!! She was a perfect mate for Ralph ( John) and we could feel the love between them just like eith Will and Ellen .!!! Wish we were having new episodes still as we need the family values to learn from and teach our families what real unconditional love looks like ❤❤ Thank you for your role and for giving us so many beautiful family TV nights together

Some of the finest acting in that show came from Michael, Will Geer, and Ellen Corby. Among those three never a false moment or a single scene that seemed unauthentic. Incredible consistency in performance throughout all those episodes.

What she said about the US and us being in our infancy resonated with me. I have wanted to visit the UK for some years to see all of its amazing history and visit the canals to hopefully rent a narrowboat and liveaboard for a few weeks. The bridges on those canals are fascinating to me. The markings from the ropes that the horses who towed those narrowboats left, so long ago, are still there. Now, I will get to how much Michael Learned playing Mama Walton has touched my heart over the years. It did seem as though she and Ralph Waite had true chemistry. I just thought it was brilliant acting, and I'm sure it was, but it did show through the lens. She is still a beautiful woman! My goodness, if I could look that good at that age it would be a blessing. Btw, I still go to the library and rent DVD's of The Waltons when I want to have a lazy day. I wish I had a time machine and could visit those more wholesome days. Thank you for the work you do on these wonderful videos!

Dear Michael, I've really enjoyed your interview. Congratulations on 45 years of sobriety. I love The Waltons and find myself identifying with the characters. I somehow identify with Ike the most. I did find you actually eating on the show. It's in Spring Fever (1978), where you and Ralph are eating sandwiches on the teeter-totter. Have a great day, Michael.

Micheal learned i just loved you on the Waltons as Mama Walton and ralph waite was a handsome guy. i always thought you both made a beautiful couple. i just love the Anniversary scene in the house where you and john renew your vowes of Marraige but at the end Richard Thomas ( AKA ) Johnboy leaves at the end to meet his Girlfriend the poet writer at the train Station but Grandpa tells him don't forget your way home . Richard replies i won't . Richard say Good night Everyone. and he drives off i cryed watching that scene. i wish the show was still on. but i do watch all the reruns and it brings me back to a time when i was growing up. ❤
