He literally says he sold the entire company, not that the company got sold and all he did was make the website. In otherwords, he's the owner and just made the website himself. The movie doesn't understand what that entails, but that's what they said. The implausible part is how the website features his face and talks about how he made "the code".

The only viable explanations would be one or both of 2 options: He's exaggerating and it has only been half of his working life (assuming you're right about his age and he started working at whatever job at 20ish, that's 20 years on the high end given how owning an entire company is rarely something one just picks up at 20) and/or this movie takes place in the future.

@@jayive34 Senior is really pushing it. I remember in 8th grade, a friend of mine did the same style of lip movement for his dog to explain random science stuff for the class project. The video was only around 5 minutes long, but it literally had the same production value as this "movie", if you ignore the house the first family lives in. Funfact: his laptop then proceeded to literally scream in agony an hour later, for some unknown reason, and he had to get a new one.
