► So here we go with my opinion on this kdrama:
❥ Pros: The scenes inside the prison are the best, it always explores the different characters and their adjustments, which I really love in this type of series. The bromance is real, if you end up shipping these two then you'll die a lot, especially in the first episodes, you'll die (in a positive way). The characters are all likable, the thing I most enjoyed in this kdrama was the fact that they didn't make the prisoners as "victims" and the guards as "villains" as we always feel pity for the prisoners in most series about prisons, but here there's a balance, there are prisoners who are there unfairly, others we can feel sad for, but there are also likable guards, and also bad ones of course. Another pro is the funny and comedic scenes, there's a really funny character and he's also one of my favourites.
❥ Cons: This is my opinion but I can't stand the two main heterosexual couples. They feel so forced and if you know me you know I mean it when I say it. I don't hate the girls, and the couples themselves are "cute" but I feel like they were so unnecessary (specially the one for Joon ho). At first it didn't bother, but then it started having an impact where, if instead of showing those scenes they had developed other characters it would have been much better. Another con is this kdrama kinda disappointed me... The life lessons taught in it are said and then forgotten like it didn't have any meaning. But what disappointed me the most was the fate of one of the characters which I've been rooting for since the start, and then they just... argh... It seriously disappointed me.
❥*Conclusion:* Like I said, the 2 main hetero couples feel so forced I can't stand them. I repeat, at first you'll question me "what's so wrong?" but then it just becomes too much filling, I had to skip the parts between those couples!! This kdrama has a homosexual couple, but still feels like they hesitated too much with it, well it's obvious they are not as confortable with LGBTQ+ in Korea I think (in general) but still it wouldn't change my opinion on the two main ones bc the problem is how the relationships are explored.
The main negative point is, the last 5 episodes were too hard to watch. They had their good scenes, but I was forcing myself to finish mainly for the characters in prison and also the bromance.
I'd give this kdrama a 6/10. I'm pretty rigid, but 6 is actually really positive comparing to the way it made me feel in the last episodes. The first 4 to 5 episodes are 10/10, but then it goes down and down... it disappointed me. Still I think if you like prison series, criminal and law, and also bromance, you should watch it, and if you don't mind or even love romance, then the grade of this kdrama for you could be 8/10 I don't know, but you all should judge for yourselves. This kdrama is on netflix.
