@ALF ALPHA The 2006 A's except for Crazy Milton Bradley shit the bed in the ALCS vs the Tigers. It was also the weakest of the 2000-06 teams. The team that should have won it all was the 01 team that had Giambi, Dye, Damon, Tejeda, Chavez and the Big 3. But they squandered a 2-0 ALDS lead against a very average Yankee team.

So glad Canseco got back together with Oakland and McGwire 1 last time! Then he became a Blue Jay and McGwire a Cardinal. Funny that the Athletics and Blue Jays are my two favourite teams and Canseco has said even though Oakland is his home, Toronto was next. He luvs Canada. Would have been great to see McGwire in T.O for a year!

1997 Oakland A’s had McGwire, Canseco, Matt Stairs, Jason Giambi, and young Tony Batista and Miguel Tejada. But if you look at their pitching, you’ll understand how such a stacked lineup had such an abysmal record

@utubegirl The same reason why a great player like Jerry Rice trains extensively during the offseason. You do anything to get an edge. NO ONE is disputing that steroids don't improve a player...but like the OP said...you have to bring something talent wise TO THE DANCE to have it ENHANCED. Ozzie Canseco also took steroids and never homered once in the Major Leagues. JOSE'S TWIN BROTHER. If ANYONE would've proven that you could just pump steroids into anyone and make them a star, it would've been Jose Canseco's twin fucking brother. But instead, he was a scrub and Jose was a borderline HOFer stat wise.

Many would argue the "steroid" era was one the best times for baseball (ironically). The Sosa/Big Mac chase for the record (at the time) was one of the all-time high points for the sport, for example. All thanks to juice... So yeah, "hurt" is a hard term to use when you consider the good it did and these guys were in the center of it.
