Not the best thing, but one of my favorites: the memories. Going to a game with my Dad, just the two of us. Memories I’ll keep forever.

Stadium environment for sure. I tried standing up and yelling on defense at an NFL game, somebody actually told me to quiet down

The first time I attended an NFL game was after doing my 5 years at Ohio State as a student. Needless to say, I was so underwhelmed.

You hit one of my most favorite parts. College football largely takes place in college towns. It's just more special. That's why personally I wouldn't want to go to Miami or LA if I was a college player.

The best things about college football: Games between the smaller teams (I-AA, II, III) -- it's not corrupted by big money and people who don't have the best interest of the game at heart, it's just pure sports. The fans packing a stadium and cheering. Creates electric atmospheres at venues from Autzen Stadium and LSU's Tiger Stadium to Aggie Stadium in Davis, CA and Kehres Stadium (home of the Purple Raiders.) The amazing comebacks and unexpected close games that happen *every* year. The great names and mascots, like Boilermakers and Orediggers. The rich history and traditions. The great rivalry games, like Harvard-Yale and the Black Hills Brawl (SD Mines -- Black Hills State). And the pure enjoyment of watching a bunch of young men go out and have three hours of fun in a competitive fashion, whether you're at the stadium or watching it on TV.

🏆 Great segment! And sooo many other factors: - Smell of BBQ cooking, and of course eating it. - Anticipation of games on the Friday before so intense when you should be paying attention in class. - Selling parking on the lawn of the house you're renting - Feeling a little closer to complete strangers wearing the same colours - Student sections - Taking someone to their first game and showing them how it's done. - Like Josh said, simple fact stadiums are rarely replaced, instead just added onto. - Large crowds and level of noise! I will admit I was wrong if I am... but I just cannot accept the sport is going to be better with 12 and now we know eventually 16 game CFP. 🤬

I agree with you on the piped in music, I really don't care for it. My first college game was at Sanford Stadium in 1956 to see my beloved Bulldawgs so I certainly lean to the old school thought on the band vs loud amplified music.

Everyone talks about P5! P5! P5! But even at G4 and below, games are important and the fans just as committed even though everyone knows it has NOTHING to do with the CFP or national rankings.

Bold prediction ND goes 12-0 and makes it to the final 4. Very easy schedule, gets the 5 seed and plays the G5 12 seed. 2nd round plays a team like Clemson or Utah. Very possible scenario. Then they get crushed in the semi finals.

@@brockcastleberry1154 I agree, but things could shake out that they don't play a single good team until the semi finals.

Josh is dead-on with the bit about the "close-your-eyes factor". There's a very unique feeling--almost like an electricity--that you get when you're in the stadium at a college football game. Only other place I've felt that is at an NHL game. Even without your eyes and maybe even without your ears, you can just feel the energy.

Josh I am 100% with you on piped in music. I hate it. I’d prefer silence. Let me take in the crowd and the atmosphere. Let me hear the small chants that start up on the other side of the stadium. I’ve seen so many chants start and get killed by some ridiculous song that doesn’t fit the mood at all

Neck is an HBCU tradition that started in the 1980s. Until you're at Jackson St or Southern, you don't know what it's really like.

The jaguar nation and the Gmen from grambling lit it up the last two years in Tiger stadium. That southern/LSU ticket was the 2nd hardest ticket in BR only trailing the bama ticket.

I think Lambeau Field could fit in as a college stadium. Players will always prefer the college over pros because they get to pick where. The question isn't why this school over that. Nowadays that could just be NIL money but the player is the one choosing.

You definitely don’t need 100,000 people in the stands of an ugly erector set stadium to have to super fun college campus football Saturday experience. It’s hard to beat Washington State in Pullman, Washington, for an excellent football Saturday right in the heart of campus! Beautiful stadium too. It’s not the largest, but it sure is a great setting. There are also RV areas in pockets, called Regions, all over the rolling hills to the east and south on campus for a super weekend of fun for those, like me & friends, who come from hours away to Pullman. It is even better when the soccer or volleyball (or both) teams are scheduled at home as well for the weekend. That fills Friday evening as well as Sunday. :) All on campus.

Tailgating is separate in college football than any other sport. I went to a Michigan game and there were 100,000+ in the stadium and maybe even more right outside surrounding the stadium
