One thing is for certain; lawmakers are hardly ever "experts" in the subjects that they legislate. Lobbyists write the laws.

😂 You think lawmakers don't have advisors? Are you aware how many lawyers are lawmakers? Did you know one of the skills of a lawyer is researching things? Why do you think they bring professionals in the field to address Congress on these matters? What do you think that is? that's them not just relying on their own theories, huh?

@@dangerous8333 @skasztan I wish I had the empty space in my head like our friend @dangerous8333 to add a "trust the government. They've NEVER been wrong" room. Said no one ever in the history of mankind. Psh..... Those "professionals" you reference, you wouldn't be including the same "professionals" that all signed a document that said the Hunter Biden "laptop from hell" was Russian misinformation, or the same "professionals" that said COVID wasn't made in a Chinese lab, surely you don't mean the same "professionals" that have gaslit the American People for the last 3 years about having a corpse for a President, right?! My favorite are the "professional" actors that fly all over the world in their private jets and try to convince the world that WE have to give up our resources. I also love when "professional" actors go in front of Congress and profess to be "professionals" that have real experience in whatever field that their latest movie was based on. Professional just means they get paid. It doesn't mean they know wtf they're talking about. Yes. How blissful it must be to be this empty headed.

That seems to be the elephant in the room. No one seems to know if it will be a ban on the purchase of new drones and/or ground existing drones. If the ground existing drones, will they do via a firmware update or just tell us not to fly them? I have a Mavic Pro and a Phantom 4 and I use them commercially. I’m looking for a new cinematic FPV and my first choice was the Avata 2. With this ban muddying the water, I’m wondering if I’ll be better off buying into the Walksnail HD infrastructure even though the Avata is a better fit for my needs.

I totally agree, if the government was so concerned about China gathering information on the USA then there are many other things the government should be concerned with. 100% the number one thing is all these cell phones which have cameras, microphones non removable batteries and constantly connected to the internet. Then we can go on and on like allowing China to purchase property and businesses throughout our country.

Do you read other comments? Follow other channels discussing this topic? This has been discussed for months now, and everything you said has been said 10000 times already. It's also been explained how drones are different. It's also been explained the difference between an American company making things in China, and a Chinese company making things in China. Someone spent huge dollars on getting the DJI ban rolling, you really think they stop there? I think from a business perspective that would be really underutilizing their investment, they'll need to get the FCC access revoked for all applicable aircraft in order to have the biggest possible spike in sales, not just the new ones. Remember, we're not talking about logical, but legal, from the corporate perspective of maximum possible dollars.

Please, I would love to hear who you think is out spending DJI in lobbying. List one American drone company that could even compete. @AA-fi5nj
@AA-fi5nj 3 күн бұрын
DJI owns the consumer drone market. No-one, and I repeat, no-one can out-spend it lobbying. However, there's one primary factor that is preventing it from successfully lobbying: it is not an American company. Both sides of the political fence would rather not be caught "sleeping with the enemy" no matter the monetary benefit. See, the US always needs an external enemy, or it will fight with itself (as is happening now). China is simply the Soviet Union of today.

I wanted to share my perspective on the current discussions regarding the potential ban on Chinese drones in the U.S. It seems to me that this ban does not truly reflect a genuine concern from the U.S. government about Chinese drones. Rather, implementing such a ban would eliminate approximately 90% of recreational drones sold in the U.S., significantly reducing the number of drones flown in this country. Additionally, it's worth noting that the momentum for this ban only started to build after SkyDio's exit from the consumer drone market. This timing seems more than coincidental and suggests that other factors may be influencing the narrative. I believe it is crucial for us to address this issue from this perspective in our messaging. Some politicians are just jumping on the bandwagon, but a lot of them just want to make sure drones (DJI being #1 in the world) do not have the ability to spy on them. If they ban Chinese drones the hobby is dead. Federal regulations are too restrictive to manufacture boards. I work for Panasonic. The few board manufacturers in the US have to treat their manufacturing facilities like asbestos. It’s just way too expensive to be in compliance and making flight controllers for FPV drones would not be a priority anyway. Too many other industries take priority. And once the government realized a US company was making boards for drones they would tighten up with more regulations and heavy taxes.

Should have never dominated this area of business. Americans failed to capitalize in the market. Failed revolution failed through the lack of desire of competing. A drone ability is to great of threat. The detail and angles of what they record. Even compared to a satellite. The tech. fight in the military is real thing. It’s no longer gapped by us. @@jeremyboyce1537 I agree with you there. They make an amazing product. There's no dispute about that, but I'm not willing to sacrifice national security for a foreign nation that has been nothing but adversarial when that same equipment could be made right here at home without the risks. It'll cost more, but I'm willing to pay the difference to have peace of mind that China isn't using the data that their product collects and analyzes on our nation and it's People. That's all. Never said they didn't make the most amazing tech available.

Yeah, it has definitely nothing to do with Chinese making crap products, or the fact they steal intellectual property and use slave labor to build it. Nooooo, couldn't be that. The only thing they seem to get right is electronics. So drones, 3-D printers, phones. by the way, the other phone companies couldn't compete because they were undercut by slave labor. That's about it. I'm an engineer and tradesmen. I have every type of tool that you can think of, and machinery. I also collect firearms and air rifles and none of those are Chinese either. in fact, I do a lot and can't think of another Chinese company with connections to the Chinese government that I purchase anything from. I don't know why you guys seem to think just because they make decent electronics that they can make anything good. in some cases, even their electronics are inferior, they're just cheaper, and people love cheap. Heard of Daewoo cars? Garbage, and no longer sold in the United States for good reason.

Two door/single cab/ only Trucks have a 25% tariff on them. Toyota Hilux can't be bought here, have to get it from some other country, pay an Extra 25% "tax" and the large shipping fee, then hope for the best. Why? Chicken Tariff from WWII was added to. Even after chicken was removed from it, the trucks remain tariffed. It's the same mentality by the same people. Some "special interest" paid for them to do it, so they wrap themselves in a flag and proclaim righteousness.

It's simply cutting down relying on foreign, especially Chinese, products. Pushing your own manufacturers so the US can gain footing in that market since I don't know any other drone manufacturer for the average consumer. Maybe there are some security concerns but I think those might be minor and don't really matter? It's money and in the Ukraine War they saw in action how the drones play a major role and how many DJI can sell there. Both sides buying drones from different countries but I mostly hear about DJI for Ukraine. Maybe I'm wrong, smells like they are pushing US companies and market manipulation.

Hey Joshua, Thank you for making the content you make. The speculation from our government about DJI drones is far more scary and definitely warrants the ban. We had private contractors across our country buy and utilize DJI drones to conduct field inspections and observe many sub stations and power grid equipment. The belief is that DJI has been collecting all of this information pertaining to our infrastructure which can used against us. Think about it, what we be one of the most devastating impacts to the US if we were to be invaded. The loss of power.
