I've been a huge fan of Journey since my high school days in the late 70s but i fell away later in years. I'm a little late to the party as I wasn't following the changes with Steve and now Arnel. In fact I literally just found the re-recorded songs with Arnel and was truly blown away by his vocal chops. Now, watching this and other videos, it's crystal clear why they chose him as their front man: his energy, charisma, and outstanding vocal quality and range put him in a league of his own. Literal chills while watching this video today. I'm also in awe to see a classic American band have an Asian fronting for them. This is just beyond words for me. Much love. Must respect.

Journey was lucky to have found Arnel. He helped give them a second or another round of success.

It seems that the sound system in Manila was of very superior quality-- I have noticed that.. The Live Concert in Manila was truly sensational !! Singing " Open Arms " gave me goosebumps !! Wonderfully executed-- AP sure rocks --and the crowd rocks with him--BIG TIME! He commands the stage with his presence !! Journey songs are hard to sing, singing high notes again and again!! AP got that awesome natural rasp when he sings ballad songs, it's full of passion and emotion, and it's mesmerizing !! !! Journey has the best instrumental musicians and perfect backing voice to complement AP !! Really iconic !! I have experienced watching Journey with AP on LIVE Concerts many times and it was an incredible experience each time! Watching Journey LIVE Concert is such a treat--- for those who have NOT done it, Try it ! Man, my daddy was a lifelong journey fan. In the year before he died he watched their concert with Arnel on DVD alot. He knew he didn't have much time and due to a severe heart attack that led to him losing so much of his memory, I always wondered how much he actually remembered. But I knew when he watched the music and videos he loved, he still was there. He was so impressed with Arnel and I guess I never paid much attention. He really is amazing. This song in particular has been a huge part of my life since I was maybe 5. It will never not make me cry 😭

You’re at the top of your abilities here. I saw you drink our local “salabat” before every performance, it never worked for me. Causes my voice to go hoarse fast. I don’t know if you’ve heard of Nin Jiom Pei Pa Koa? You can get it from your local asian store, take it the night before your shows and after every shows and just hydrate with water a lot, it works wonders and more gentle on the vocal cords.

You can definitely hear and see the emotion he feels behind thos song. I'm in tears. It's truly beautiful and he was definitely a great choice for lead. His vocals and passion are amazing🩷
